From time to time I know we all have days where you wake up and just feel down and stressed. I've been in that place the last couple of days, and I can't seem to shake it. I haven't posted here in quite sometime but I could think of no better place to ask advice than from you guys and girls here. |

Re-frame. Go read besch's post on his new inner game (my-game-has-changed-im-sharing-inner-game-vt23775.html ) Apart from that you could always try a nightly meditation. A few simple techniques to focus your mind and generally make you calm. 1) to start off sit down somewhere, comfortable but dont lie down or you will fall asleep! close you eyes, have all your body parts spread about a little (fingers apart etc). Then just breath in for 6 seconds through your nose, then out for 10 through your mouth (try 7 in 11 out if you can). 2) the next thing to do is while doing this count up to 15 in your head, visulising the numbers as you go. If you think of ANYTHING else before you reach 15 stop, and start again. Keep doing this until you can count up to 15 and back again without shifting your focus a few times. 3) this is the final step. While still breathing, on the in breath focus intensly on your feet, and on the out breath forget them, and think of nothing. Then on the next in breath focus on your ankles and forget them when you breath out. Keep working up until you get to your face, dont get freaked out if your body starts to feel numb when you forget them. When u get to your face try to split it up into as smaller pieces as you can to forget at a time..... Hope that helps |

Lately whenever I feel crappy, I read some of Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins. It's full of stuff about turning bad things into good things, stopping bad habits, becoming empowered, etc, so it works wonders. Also, listening to music that you have linked good feelings to, or watching a movie/tv show that you have good feelings linked to, something that will take you back to that same mindset. |

Run outside with no shirt on and yell "THIS IS SPARTA!!!" to some strangers. Do anything that pumps you up physically. The mind and the body follow each other. Also, one time I woke up to "Mint Car" by The Cure and I felt wonderful for the entire day! [emff]http://grim999.googlepages.com/0-MintCar.mp3[/emff] |

Anchor a state where you have felt like you were the king of the world or were you just felt so good and happy. This guy on youtube has a video that shows you how to do that, its fast, simple, and you can trigger that sate whenever you want even as soon as you wake up or before a big presentation or something like that anyways heres the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnaylgFEJ_Q |

This is all very good advice - I've tried both meditation and state anchoring, and they've worked wonders for me. I'm now able to get rid of a headache in a couple minutes. For me, this is evidence that this stuff actually works. But there's another point I want to make. Pickup artists are not superhuman. I'll speak for myself here, but I get times when I'm pissed off, sad, bored or just feel like crap for no reason. I get approach anxiety and that sinking feeling in my stomach when I get harshly rejected. I never stop feeling those. But more importantly, I've learned that those are merely excuses to be inactive. 'I feel like shit, so I'm not going out tonight'; 'I have too much AA right now, best not to open' etc. Sure, those thoughts do pop into my mind. And they are all meaningless in the face of your decision. You feel bad? Go out. Sarge. Open. Talk to people. Have fun! This is a slightly unusual hobby, but it is fun. Like Anthony Robbins says, decision is the ultimate power. As soon as you decide that even if you feel like shit, you'll go out and do it, consequences be damned, there's no stopping you. All you gotta do is snap your fingers. |

Mystery has the best advice on this. You don't get yourself into a good mood to go out, you go out to get yourself into a good mood. Sure the first few might be crash and burn, but you should almost be AIMING for this. Personally, I go out IN ORDER to crash and burn, it is only in your failures that you have any chance of success. That is actually a good line. I'm going to put that in my signature. Also, single sarging sucks. You don't have to wing, but just going out and knowing that your mate is there with you should you need him, it really helps confidence. |
