I am still having problems really BEING cocky funny. I thought it might be easier to find someone that i think might be and try and mirror their attitude. Is sawyer from lost cocky funny? And does anyone have anyone else that would be clearly cocky funny? |

Cool, Why yes, you have stumbled upon an idea called exactly that. "Mirroring" effective personalities. You can do this with cocky-funny or any type of attitude and with anyone. Take the good qualities from that particular persona and leave all of the bad behind. Sawyer from Lost would certainly have some cocky-funny aspects of his personalities. For example, his use of clever little nicknames for all of the characters is but one of many times he uses that attitude. You obviously watch the show so I won't drum on about his others. Dr. Cox from the TV show "Scrubs" is almost entirely a cocky-funny character. Vick Mackey and the crew from the TV show "The Shield" use cocky-funny all the time. There are plenty more.... The important thing to remember is that "mirroring" is an effective tactic almost anywhere. It doesn't have to be mirroring strictly TV show characters, and it doesn't have to mirror strickly cock-funny attitude. If your friend excels in a certain area of his life, mirror that. Also, make sure you are only mirroring, not mimicking, there is a world of differences between the two. Mirroring is studying the ways of that person and learning to do it for yourself. Mimicking would basically be a copycat. The first of which is good, the second of which is gay. |

You know, I'm not trying to take the value away from this thread but this has got to say: IT'S ALL ABOUT INNER GAME AND BEING YOURSELF. IF you guys haven't been paying attention to the latest INCREDIBLY rich and valuable threads, it's really all about letting your persona shine through. Only when you are comfortable with letting people see the best of yourself, can you truly be congruently cocky/funny. Sure, it would be amazing if you could mirror it, but again I quote someone whom I currently blanked out on his name at this moment, just leave in the moment. Don't always worry about how to be cocky/funny to the Y, but just have fun and let it flow Ya dig? |
