I've been getting in touch with a few girls I knew from the past, girls I knew before and after my transition to PUA. There is this weird commonality that they all share, in that whenever I ask how they have been, they tell me:

"Good. I've been busy."

Almost word for word. Every girl. What the hell does this mean, is there some underlying hidden meaning behind this response? I've been getting in touch with old friends too and they don't say that, or if they do they explain the situation a bit with a follow up. Girls, they just tell me they've been busy, then we go back and forth a bit with the usual phone/IM/email stuff.

Someone help me crack the code here. :?

Tough to tell without knowing the girls or without any other supporting information, but it seems to me like "good. I've been busy" could have three likely meanings:

1. "I'm doing pretty much the same thing that I was doing last time you talked to me but I don't want to seem like a loser so I'll just say that I've been busy to save face."

2. "This guy is probably going to ask why I haven't talked to him in a while so I'll just go ahead and preemptively answer his question and then maybe I won't have to deal with it."

3. "I really have been busy."

What are you expecting them to say?

"Actually, things have been going horribly. I got beat up by my boyfriend, I lost my job, my herpes is flaring up, and my dentist told me that my teeth are a lost cause."

Sounds like "I've been busy" is the better response.

I could be way off here, but here is what I think it means...

"Good. I've been busy."

Its small talk. Most people answer with short, simple answers.

That's pretty much what I tell people. It's something that girls are saying, cause they have social skills and know either consciously, or subconsciously, that saying they're busy, is gonna do THIS to you you and make you assume they've been up to stuff and that there's things going on. That's why I say it. I want the girls to go, "Wow, he's got a life, maybe I'll ask him what he's been up to and he'll fill me in."

So next time they say it, consider it something that socialy apt people say and then act accordingly, by asking her some questions about it and having a conversation, cause that's a conversation starter.

Hahaha Medic that's fucked up.

Alright guys I think the general consensus is that it's a conversation starter that doubles as a DHV opener. This is definitely something I need to "pick up" on better.
