Anybody watch Aziz Ansari's stand-up? He's pretty good, but he sounds totally Beta and/or AFC. I'm sure some of his material is just an act, but I can't help but think some of it is true. He did actually admit to some of it on a Howard Stern interview regarding him texting Blake Lively. It's worth checking out to try and analyze the situation: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/0 ... 45134.html Anyway, if anyone has watched any of his stand-up, he gives perfect examples of what not to be and what not to do: Needy Over-thinking what to say Self-fulfilling prophecies Not stating his intentions Doesn't capitalize on social-proof He's funny as hell, and I don't mean to rag on him, but don't be that guy. |

Haha. Yeah, he's a trip. I just found it funny that when he was talking about picking up chicks, I started seeing the red flags that PUAs may call out. For example, he was telling a story about complimenting a chick. He went up to a chick and gave her a compliment on her purse, and says she genuinely had a nice, unique-looking purse. He then started a conversation with her, and when her friend came around he says she rudely says "He says I have cool-looking purse." What I got from that was, you know he wasn't going to strike up a conversation with someone if he just thought they had a cool purse. First of all, what guy checks out a girl's purse? Sure, the girl may have been genuinely flattered that he complimented her purse, but once he starts chatting her up, she's probably thinking: Oh, he complimented my purse just to talk to me and now he's hitting on me. Granted, if he was more of her type, she may have gone along with it, but the line was weak and if she's not the least bit attracted to you, you're going to have a bad time. |

Interesting. I didn't watch the vid and have no idea who this dude is but you're right when you say IF SHE WAS INTERESTED she would have taken the purse compliment and ran with it. She would have understood it was a way the guy got his foot in the door. Yeah, he's a trip. Since she apparently wasn't interested (again I haven't watched the vid but I will blame her disinterest on the guy not having the correct sexy demeanor; notice i didn't say height/looks/etc) so she made a joke out of it. |

My bad, the link wasn't a vid to the material I was referring to. It was a link to an article where he read the texts he sent. I'll save you the trouble. Here they are. "Hey, it's Aziz. The Animal dinners are over now unfortunately, but I will show you photos from when I went. It was very tasty. Are you going to the Met Ball?" *no response* [Night of the Met Ball] "Hey, it's Aziz. Please tell Karl [Lagerfeld] he needs to call me, it's been too long since we bro'd out." *no response* [A few hours later] "I'm going to the Boom Boom Room for that afterparty. Hopefully this is your number? Either way, good seeing you." "And that's just so sad, that I'm questioning the technology," Ansari said. Finally, Lively answered: "Hey, maybe I'll see you. So weird, Karl was just saying how bummed he was to miss you." [The following day, Ansari texted her again] "I feel so bad you had to fly to North Carolina after that party. It must've been rough. Karl and I partied at Boom Boom until 7 a.m. Got tacos the next day after and just had a beautiful spa day. Next time we are in the same city, let's eat delicious food." After she didn't respond to that last text, you'd think Ansari would have gotten the hint. But nope. This last text is probably the most painful of all: "The last message I sent her -- and I don't know why I sent this -- is Dec. 17, 2011, and I just write, 'Happy Holidays!' and then there's no response," he laughed. Of course, the "Parks and Recreation" star had to give this cringeworthy story the ending it deserved, and texted Lively while on-air: "Read these messages on Howard. Hope that's cool. Doubt you'll respond to this." |

It's just sad as fuck and you have to wonder what's with all the theatrics. "Grab a drink?" usually works if the girl is hooked from the original convo. |

The 'happy holidays' text was also tragic. If a girl is into it she will on her own accord send lovely holiday wishes to you without any prompting. Whoever this dude is, it just goes to show that you have to put in the work to learn the game, implement it, and only then can you see results. Amateur inputs get amateur outputs. Garbage in GARBAGE OUT. Because women are mirrors. |

The guy is just a standup comic. These are jokes. You guys have to stop taking every single thing a man says as something to be related to pickup.
