Ehh, not being tied down with a wife or kids is something I've done and planned to do since I was in middle school. But I would never use the MGTOW label.

While you describe MGTOW as simply a man who doesn't need a woman in his life and doesn't want life long commitment or children, its core philosophy is a lot more than that. It also holds that women are inherently distrustworthy, unlike men who have a natural sense of honor. I feel its a pretty delusional view of the world. Yes, an attractive woman will dump your ass if you're a weak man. But then again, a high quality man will dump a woman's ass if she gets fat or generally starts sucking as a person.

Now if the theory is "fat women are inherently distrustworthy", I agree. I've found decent looking women to be roughly as honorable as men, just with a different set of ethics(plenty of crappy chicks, but that cuts both ways). However, fat women are often some of the most treacherous people I've ever witnessed. It's why I refuse to even befriend fat women. Even the few I thought seemed nice, ended up proving me wrong.

"MGTOW" is really not so far removed from another acronym for "Male Rights Activists" and by and large, they're a group of pissy little bitches who live life as a perpetual victim. You're right, they are the "male" version of feminists.
The guys who use the MGTOW label tend be a more successful version of MRA. They struggle with women, and generally don't like them, but they don't absolutely seethe with hatred for them as MRAs.
