Looking through the questions page, the number of guys on here who post when they get that all-important (seemingly life-changing) phone number is abnormally high.

You need to change the way you think about phone numbers. Getting a girl's phone number is not a close. Even a kiss is not a close in my book. You should measure your success with women by the number and quality of pussies your penis has entered.

Phone numbers are meaningless if you haven't got the girl invested in you. This sounds obvious, but so many of you still don't get this and still don't understand the social dynamics of what is going on when she gives you her number. You make hasty assumptions like "phone number = she likes me, No number = She doesn't" . A girl might give you her number for many different reasons:

1) Boredom. She may not be interested in you sexually, but she likes getting flirty texts from lots of different guys. Perhaps she wants to make her boyfriend jealous. You could just be one of those guys.

2) To get rid of you. Even if you think an interaction is going well, the girl may just be being polite and uses your "number close" as the perfect opportunity to get rid of you. She may even block your number afterwards to avoid confrontation. A fake number should send you this message even louder and clearer.

3) She liked you at the time, when she was partying. Now it's the next day, she has a hangover and she can't remember which guy you are. Or perhaps she does remember who you are but has changed her mind.

So, basically you should stop thinking about phone numbers as the goal. You goal should be to make a physical and emotional connection with the girl so that she is invested in you and wants to see you for Day 2 (if you can't get an SNL). If you do this correctly, the girl usually asks YOU for your number.

The typical beginner goes up to the girl, chats some filler/fluff talk for a few minutes then goes for the number when he runs out of his rehearsed material and can't think of anything to say. This is what you're doing wrong. I've even seen guys who already have their fucking phone in their hand when they approach the girl(!!).

The number should be an after-thought, after realising SNL logistics won't work, the only purpose of it is to continue the flirting by text/phone and to set up a date. Your cellphone might be a state of the art smartphone but you cannot have sex with a phone number and there is no app which will suck your dick for you.

So if you're one of those guys who gets validation from collecting phone numbers but you never get laid, this is your wake-up call. There are some girls in the club who are DTF the same night, if you don't screw it up. You can imagine her disappointment when dude after dude approach her, only to bail when they get her number. All the while she is thinking "Goddammit I wanted a hard cock inside me TONIGHT!"

Stop measuring your success with "number closes" and give her the fucking D.

I wish I could send this post back in time to 2007 when I first discovered the PUA community and starting reading LoveSystem's forum. The number of "OMG, I got XX numbers today!" posts were hilarious. I remember one poster bragging that he got 15 numbers per day, all month long 8)
Then in another thread he asks how it is that out of 500 numbers, he managed to get only one girl out on a date. Yes, the mind boggles...
