Could you imagine explaining yourself to a woman. "well may'am, i'm a pick up artist." lol. There has to be a better term. Anyone have any ideas? |

No. It's just a term used to describe guys who know how to talk to women, get laid, and have healthier sexual relationships. You wouldn't be explaining any of this to a woman anyways, aside from maybe madonna/whore to demonstrate your lack of insecurity. |

I know what it means.. I just think it is lame and I don't refer to myself as a pick up artist. |

Doesn't matter really. When do you ever read PUA books in public anyway? Or approach a girl and say "Hey. I'm a pick up artist!! |

Anything you say that is similiar to pua ie seducer, player or ladies man is gonna sound lame. Why tell a woman that in the first place? |

I've actually tried doing that. direct approach. "hi, I'm a pick up artist and I'm going to seduce you". they would usually ask what it was. I would explain. f closed once.imo a bad opener. it was just as a challenge. but no. it isn't lame. lame is to make this type of threads. |

Why do you need to "define yourself as something?" |

Just be a guy. If someone asks you, "Are you a pickup artist?", maybe say, "I've looked at a few things." That's usually what I say when it comes up. Or I just ignore it. It usually only comes up when I'm talking to a girl I'm screwing about some aspect of seduction. |

Why does the sparrow chirp?Quote: Just be a guy.
Yeah man this is generally the approach I take. I'm just a dude with game.. However, most of the pick up artist processes and techniques we use are discussed by fellow pick up artists, on pick up artist forums, ect. It makes me feel dumb typing that shit in every other day and referring to you guys, and sometimes myself, as such. Do you see what i'm saying? Calling ourselves, our peers, and the techniques and processes we use, by the term pick up artist is kind of weak. It makes my game seem like just that, a bunch of processes and techniques. If someone asks you, "Are you a pickup artist?", maybe say, "I've looked at a few things." That's usually what I say when it comes up. Or I just ignore it. True, it doesn't really matter. But it does in the sense that I have to type in "pick up artist" every time I want to learn something new.. Anyway.. The point of this thread is to see if we can come up with anything better than "pick up artists". Player is just about the best thing anyone has contributed and thats kind of old and has bad connotations. What do you guys think of gamers or parlayers. They both sound kind of immature but I like the definition behind parlay: par·lay ˈpärˌlā,-lē NORTH AMERICAN verb 1. turn an initial stake or winnings from a previous bet into (a greater amount) by gambling. "it involved parlaying a small bankroll into big winnings" noun 1. a cumulative series of bets in which winnings accruing from each transaction are used as a stake for a further bet. |
