Post subject:  Negative emotions in approaches...

I went out the other night to an underage club to practice openers and approaches, since I am underage myself. The first two sets seemed easy, but once i got to my third i was stumped:

It was a group of 2:
Me: Hey, i need an average girls opinion on pink shirts. [My friend had a pink shirt on.]

HB8(interupts): What makes you think we're average?

Me: Well, you havent shown me anything that will make me assume you girls are above average.

HB8
: I think your full of shit, and are only trying to talk to us. [She seemed arrogant at this point.]

Me: Now your making me assume that you have a big ego, and are into yourself.

HB8: Now your saying im conceited?

Me
: Just a little..

HB8 gives me a dirty look and walks off, and shortly after her friend followed.

I didn't number or k-close, but had a feeling i was halfway there.
She seemed upset, but didn't know how to turn her negative emotion into a positive one. This was my first time sarging, and wanted some feedback from you guys. Anything will help..

Doesn't sound like she was interested man. Sometimes a girl is just in a bitchy mood. There are some things you could have done to change the direction that went in though. I would have asked her friend if she always acted that way and made light of it, then asked your question to her again, while blocking the bitchy girl out by angling your body away from her.

Another thing you can do, is reword the opener. I would have said, "Hey, What's your guys' opinions on men with pink shirts? My buddy is wearing one and I'm trying to decide whether I should be embarressed or not. " This way, you're not drawing attention to the fact that they're girls, or coming off insulting right off the bat (no one wants to be just average).

I would change that to, "You haven't shown me anything to prove otherwise." Again, trying to stay away from enforcing the thought that they are average, instead trying to make them want to impress you, by showing you how they aren't average.

Good first attempt though.

Alright, bro. Congrats on your first night out of sarging :).

Here's something that you need to know: some girls act like they are better
than they really are. Like that 8 you were talking to was acting like a 9 or
a 10. You need to calibrate (something that comes with experience) with the
negs. So even though she was okay looking, you needed to treat her as
though she is really pretty (as in negging her a bit extra and showing more
disinterest that usual).

So if she said: "What makes you think we're average?"
I liked your reply. But I would have said something more along the lines of:

PUA:"Wait...are you the president's daughter?"
HB:"nooo...."
PUA:"Then you're average unless you can prove me wrong :)"

And that's a neg. right after the neg, you need to get right on with the
routine. DON'T LET HER RESPOND to the neg.

So, it should have been like:

HB: "What makes you think we're average?"
PUA:"Wait...have I seen you TV before?" (Say it as if she seems familiar).
HB:"Nooo...."
PUA:"Then you're average :), but you can try to prove otherwise :)"
PUA: "Like I was saying, my buddy over there..." and continue.

I would have used that opener on the obstacle after that HB said "What
makes you think we're average?"

And A response to the "You're just trying to talk to us" line would be:

"Hahahaha, there are 100 other girls in this club, I could have talked to
any ones that I chose. What makes you so different from them?" (said in a
playful tone and a smile).

Then you can either let her respond, or continue with the story before
she says anything. Again, try to direct the opener towards the obstacle
first and then work in the target.

For future reference, I would change openers, or just take out the neg
part of the opener...unless she's a 10. Remember: Calibration.
Hopes that helps, man :).

Right when i started talking to the target, i knew i should've had my attention on the obstacle. But, it's never failer. Its always learning.. haha.
