Post subject:  magician fail

Hey bro`s
I tried to practice yesterday and wanted to attract women with some bar magic tricks I saw on internet.
The are with matches and pretty impressive..
They work if I train them at home but I screwed up on real life practice infront of a hot bartender...
sure I could bend it straight because she`s laughing when I fail but the effect of asucessfull trick is much more impressive..
has anyone a hint to me how I could not screw it up next time..
I get pretty nervous and my hands are shaking and sweating..

I recently started diving into the whole PUMA scene. It all started with a trip to Thailand, and a street magician taking one of my cigarettes and making it float. So for the past couple months, I've been buying magic props and taking them to work and trying them out on my coworkers. They love when I float a dollar bill or a business card. It's a simple trick, easy to do, and gives you the WOW effect.

Either way, practice, practice and practice some more before you do any trick. I sit at work with a hand mirror and practice to see how it looks, and when I think I have it down, I go practice on a co worker. If I get the WOW effect that I'm looking for, then it's ready to be tested at the bar/club. Ask questions. "How did it look?, Any ideas on how I did it?, Were you impressed?" That way you get some feedback and know what you need to work on. Just don't give up the secret because that ruins the WOW effect, and people can not keep a secret to save their lives!

Good luck!

I honestly haven't read the rules and regulations of this site, so I don't want to say too much about the site and end up banned, but I have learned from another site that you do not use magic as an opener. It's something you should do out of the blue. You don't even ask them if they want to see a trick. You just do it. After you're done, you DO NOT do that trick again, and you don't do another immediately if they ask you. You aren't a magician, you're not trying to put on a show, and you're no dancing monkey.

Again, never use a trick as an opener. If you have a potential target in eye distance, you could start doing a very visible trick for your friends, and this could possibly spark her attention if she sees the trick. She may come over, she may not. If it's something amazing, most likely she will. At which point she opens you by asking you to do it again. Of course you are no dancing monkey, so use your PU skills to lead the conversation to something else.

If you are in a group, and one of your friends knows you can do a really cool trick, before hand, you could have one of them ask you to do a trick. Of course, this puts the spot light on you and you weren't expecting to do any tricks. Social proof goes through the roof if you can pull one off flawlessly.

Just keep practicing and don't think of it as using magic to pick up, but rather to show a skill. Saying something like "Let's see if this actually works" before you do it, may help you feel better if the trick fails. That way, you didn't know if it would work or not, you just wanted to try something. Saying "Wanna see a trick?" and it fails is heartbreaking and makes you look foolish.

thank you, you`re absolutely right,
I won`t open any more sets with tricks, it looks really foolish like a needy clown..
I try to master the mystery method first and do the magic stuff as little extra when needed...

Post subject:  opening with ESP trick

I'm opening with Mystery's "ESP Routine"... it requires no props and although it is a magic trick, I feel that it works well, becuse if it doesn't work, i.e, she doesn't pick the numbers... you can kino on the second pick (1-10) and if that fails then it leads into a conversation about the 80/20 rule - where I state that she is "intereseting" because she didnt' pick the numbers most people do...

I've only tried this during the day, it may be too drawn out to use as an opener in the clubs or bars... and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to do a trick at night as an opener where I pull a coin out of mid air...

After reading this post however, I'm reconsidering my night game routine...
Lovecraft...
