I am proud to file my first FR. Even as I was going after my target I caught some of my mistakes…would appreciate any/all compliments Last night after work I was in a grocery store in Manhattan. Now from what I know PU philosophy says singles, at least in a bar, are on guard. I need to do more reading about this but I think in other venues they might be easier (?). Anyway, I saw this HB with her basket (face and bod 7) shopping. Normally I would not walk right by her, even avoiding contact, but I decided instead to squeeze right between her and this display. I said excuse me and smiled...and she smiled. We crossed paths several times and I read her obvious IOI. For those of us who have ignored or refused to believe they are there, I now sense them quite a lot thanks to you guys…so I went after her after the second time I saw her checking me out. I went looking for her and found her. I followed the 3 second rule and blurted out: “Look, I think you are really cute and I was wondering if I could get your number and call you sometime?” I know…I should never open like that…but I did…it’s not any good..but this was her response: “I think you are very cute too…but I have a bf.” Smash…in the past I would have smiled and said, okay…sorry…but my PU instincts kicked in and I neged: “Well that is cool…hell, all three of us can go out for drinks…I’lll tell him what a loyal gf he has” while I smiled a shit-eating grin. So we started talking and I smiled…I asked what she did…she answered back. A mutual DHV (not sure if this is correct?)… She asked about my accent, saying she likes it. I told her I was from GA, turns out she is from TX…another neg opp for me “Yeah, you guys think you are Southern…I know the type.” She hung in there and kept talking…and then I pushed for the # close: “So let me have that number and we can connect sometime” And then she spilled the digits. Not sure what to do with it, but there was def chemistry between the two of us… I am gonna call tomorrow and see what’s up…think I will push for a lunch so we can hang and see where the chemistry is…comments? Ideas? Thanks guys! |

What you did right *You approached After than you stumbled but that's fine the more you open the more you learn. First statement you started off with a compliment which is bad then you went staight for a # close without building attraction or comfort and what typically happens when you do that is you either don't get the # b/c there is no comfort or you get the LJBF b/c you didn't build any attraction. Second statement should have been a BF destroyer not another compliment to her you just through 2 DLV's on yourself. Asking her what she did isn't really a mutual DHV it is more of a DHV for her since you are the one who was interested but it's not much of one. It's better if you can through open ended statements that lead to her asking or answering the question without you actually asking it. If you held off on the question and had her ask about your accent first and found out she was from Texas you could have just said "Texas huh, so I guess that means you rope for a living" or some other stereotypical county job. You would have neg'd her and most likely made her justify herself and would have volunteered what she did for a living. Like I said the important thing is you made an approach and still got results in the end so nice work. Taking a girl from her BF is a lot harder than you think so your going to need to DHV yourself from the get go if you get a day 2. |

Could you list a few choice BF destroyers? Often referenced never articulated. |
