Hey <a href="">PUA Forum</a> I'm ogivol. This is my first post, so my apologies if I needed to write an introduction post first. Heres what happened. Its saturday night and the house I am associated with (fraternity), is throwing a rager for halloween. I didnt put much thought into my costume other than spiking my hair throwing on a tank top/sunglasses and calling myself the situation. One major issue I think immediately was I had lost my voice, which made talking strange but I tried anyways. Regardless, I approached a total of five sets that night, the final one ending in a kiss close/number close. We had a few beers through various drinking games, so I was confident enough to approach immediately. I see a group of four girls, ranging from HB6-9 Approach #1: "I have a question girls, who do you think im dressed up as?" I tried to be sure I wasn't leaning in etc, the girls turn and say "we have no clue really" to which I say quickly "what if I started fist pumping." that gets a laugh. I start asking the girls in the group what their dressed up as. A few in the group are more interested in me than the others, but once I ask my target what she is dressed up as she goes "cat, but then again my leopard shirt is making me a confused feline I guess, haha" I go "yeah your costume is really confusing, its not super well thought out." I tried to laugh this off neg style, but I think she reacted harshly and she goes "dont make fun of my costume!" at this point one of the girls suggests leaving to the others, and they leave. Approach #2: I see a group of girls standing around not doing much so I approach with the following. "Girls this is a dire question, whats better, glasses up, or glasses down" I say this while moving my sunglasses up and down. Girl #1 goes "Up, it makes you much more approachable" other girls agree. I say "well im supposed to be the situation, so I think down makes that more clear." one girl mentions she doesn't really watch they jersey shore, and turns away to face another group of girls. At this point it seems only one of the three girls is still facing me, she goes "Im not from America, which is why I didn't get your costume." she wasn't my target though, but she was giving me IOI's and generally enjoyable to talk to, she gives me a high five at some point (for reasons I can't remember). I exit the set saying I have to work a shift as bartender (I did actually have to do this, not a false time constraint). I did not attempt a number close as she was not someone I was entirely attracted to. Approach #3 On the dance floor I see a group of girls dancing by themselves (Four/Five total) I approach one of the girls in the group telling her "Now this is a fist pump song" and start fist pumping, she immediately recognizes my costume and agrees with me. At this point im let into the circle and start confidently showing the girls how to dance to the music/when to fist pump. I think I had a good shot at dancing with one or two of the girls but I did not decide fast enough I believe and continued my routine of showing the dance moves, and the group decides to leave together. I tried to bring a brother into the group to help break it up so I could dance with one of them individually but he was indecisive as well and decided to exit before I could ask a girl to dance individually. Approach #4 I see one girl who I found particularly cute HB8, I recognize her as one of the girls in my dancing group so I approach her by asking "are you leaving?" as it seemed like she was. she says "no im actually saying bye to my friends that are leaving, but im staying." I respond "great" *smiling* I say "well im actually going to have to head down soon, im on bar duty again in a few minutes." at this point I reveal I am involved with the house, so she asks "whats your name" I say it, she says hers, we shake hands. "Are you (insert ethnicity here because of my ethnic sounding name)" I say yes, and we have a conversation going about the things we have in common, like our religion etc. At this point im attracted to this girl because she definately has a lot in common with me, unfortuntaley I then say "well I do actually have to go now, but come down and look for me at the bar if you want a shot or anything." she goes "ah thats alright, I think im done for tonight." set ends then as I do actually have to go down to the bar. Approach #5 I don't remember to many details of what occurred as I did have a few drinks on bartending duty (probably because I was a bit saddened by approach #4) , but I do know for certain dance floor approaches are way easier than quiet venues, as I dont have to talk much, its more physical. I see a girl, I start mouthing the lyrics to the song, as she is doing the same to me. we ended up dancing and finish with making out. She asks for my number as she thinks her friends are leaving, I give it to her. That is essentially my night, I wonder what I did wrong in many cases, as in the first two girls would stop paying attention to what I was saying and I froze up at this point, exiting not to gracefully by just simply walking away when a good percentage stopped paying any attention. Any criticisms are very welcome, Im very new to the PUA style, but I did know basics like not leaning in to much and question openers, I think my negs need work, but beyond that im at a loss at what to do after the opener, I find myself freezing not before, but after.
