I'm gunna try and keep these posts as regular as possible, to keep you guys up to date and get some advice, but also to monitor my own progress. Right, it was a work night out, so it was more about hanging out with work mates, but I couldn't help myself have a little sarge.. We went for dinner before hand, and then we went to a bar/club afterwards. The first bar we hit I saw a HB7 I recognised from some volunteering work I did before. Now in my AFC days I would've ignored her, but now when I saw her I rollled straight up to her and started chatting. Was chatting for about 5 mins, then a guy came over she knew and he was like 'hey hows it going' etc. Being an RAFC, I now know not to act needy etc, so I said I'm going outside with my friends, but then she said 'hey my friends are outside too, I'll come' and she left the AFC guy. I stopped before we got outside and continued chatting, and positioned myself so it looked like she was chatting me up (again good tip from you guys.. Getting a lot of IOI's, questions etc and she liked my travelling plans and the fact I could play guitar, but about 10 mins in she mentioned that she had a bf. That was annoying, but I carried on and she liked chatting to me. Instead of going for a number-close, I got a facebook-close so its not as direct, but we have contact which is good; a confidence booster. Anyway, got into the club next, and split from my workmates for a bit, and was with a wing. I was wondering before this how to approach on the dancefloor, as there is little room for conversation and you have to be direct there, and I had a 'light bulb' moment, an the approach worked (I have added my 'dancefloor opener' to the approach and opening thread for those that are interested..), and I had a kiss-close within two minutes (she was an HB5). I spent the rest of the night with my workmates, so didnt really sarge from then on (apart from a 'does this shirt make me look gay' opener on a girl HB6, who had a bf who was at the club, she was giving me milllions of IOI's, but I steered clear since he was at the club lol..). My other RAFC friend (and housemate) actually brought a fellow work mate (HB7) back to his, and I'm presuming he got a lay.. This is the best bit. Rather than being jealous, I was so proud of him. That's because instead of being dejected myself and bitter, I had been fairly succesfull whilst not being drunk, on a work night out where I would never have sarged before. And with very minimal sarging I had a facebook close and kiss close. And thats the biggest realisation I had, whilst walking home. If you want something to happen, you have to make it happen. I used to be the AFC on the dancefloor or by the bar, getting drunk and working up the courage to speak/dance to girls about an hour before the club shut. After 2 weeks on this forum, I am completely different; and I can do it sober. I think the pennys dropped, and I owe both Neil Strauss and you guys a lot of thanks. Till next time, Bassline. |
