Ok... so I put the moves to the test this weekend... first field application of any technique... here's a recap: I went to Atlantic City over Labor Day weekend for a work related event (I work in concerts, and I had a band playing down there). I was peacocked, but not over the top. simple pinstripe suit with a pink Bruce Lee t-shirt and matching socks. Nothing too much, but the t-shirt worked, as I mingled through the crowd, I was getting several compliments from men and women on the shirt. (I expected men to recognize Bruce Lee, but when women caught on to it, I knew it was a perfect peacocking) I noticed a cute girl... easily a 7. For my first time in the field, I figured this was a good starting point. I approached her and her friend, standing alone on the patio with "thanks for waiting for me." It got a chuckle and we started with a little small talk (i didn't even try running routines, as I was a touch nervous, and this was my first time trying these methods out) and after a few moments she said she was going to head off for a drink, which I thought was her attempting to escape, but she asked me what I was drinking. Who am I to say no to a clear I.O.I... I placed and order and stood back. She and her friend departed to get the drinks, and she returned a few moments later, drink in hand. We proceeded to talk for a while, me throwing in a few negs. Being at a concert (which for me is a form of work) I could comfortably pull out the blackberry mid-conversation and send an empty or useless text message to someone as a mildly effective neg... if you pull out your BB/phone while she is talking... you have to maintain that you ARE listening, while glancing at the gadget... also say something like "sorry... duty calls. you were saying?" it can't be over used, but once or twice in a conversation is passable. Being that it was work, I had the built in time constraint of having to go off to talk to the band, handle payment, etc. Several times I needed to walk off to discuss press issues, after-party credentials, etc. allowing me the option to chose to return to her... **Note, i was NOT wearing a laminate or other form of pass that would be a flaunting of higher value, I was just hanging around in the crowd. (I got there early and made a point to meet all security staff so I wouldn't need to wear something audacious, and could see if my game was working for itself) During one of my necessary departures, she was signaling to me while i was talking business with a promoter rep (who was female and cute) to see if I needed another drink. i walked over to her and said "if you are going to flirt, flirt WITH me, not AT me... especially not at 20 feet away" I was actually a bit loud, and I got some heads turning... (not sure what technique that would be) but it got her into kino as she gave me a playful push. At this point, a few of her friends approached. I had a 2 set working, but in come 3 friends, and I pulled the "Don't be rude introduce your friends!" bit. As she introduced the friends 2 guys approached the set. At this point I had a 5 set that I was working and I had a wingman, though he wasn't really responsive to the cues he was being sent. These guys approached, started asking if a) we could get them drugs and b) inviting us (i'm sure the target was the girls) to "his mansion" where he had several kegs. He mentioned the mansion several times in the next few moments, in a otherwise boring conversation, which didn't help him, as it was only a DLV. He quickly realized that he wasn't getting anywhere and left. At this point 3 more of her friends arrived. I used the manner thing again, but since i used it already, I changed it to "I already know she won't introduce you, so, Hi, I'm Marbles." This got a good kino from both the target (two handed push on the shoulder) and the new girls with a handshake. One girl pushed her hair back before extending her hand (which besides being kino is an IOI). It was around this time that it was discussed moving from the patio to indoors as it was getting windy. I managed to position myself to own the set (which with the move to inside made it into a 9 set) in a central location. The 2 set was opened at 1:15, the move inside 1:30, and I had complete control of the set for at least an hour. With a large set, and a wing that isn't helping, an hour of control hard work. With the various girls buying me drinks, they kept moving so it was actually like working on 2 different sets, a 4-set and 5-set. I was getting great kino, as the girls came and went they'd all brush past me. I was getting strong IOIs, hips and legs facing me while seated, arms open, a lot of neck rubbing, some scratching of the hand, and plenty of hair adjustments. My original target at one point went to get me a drink, and they were out of my drink, so she came back with her drink and told me we'd have to share, but I couldn't finish it. I took her drink every so often, without really asking, and took sips from it... at this point i had her over my shoulder, and I was talking to her other friends. I had been doing a good job of escalating, and used a few gambits that I've developed on the friends. (This one is tricky, but works really well...) I got them talking and after a few sentences, i quieted them with a finger on the lips and a 'shush.' I said "You're hogging the spotlight as if it was your birthday, and we both know it isn't today... We both know that is it... i'm gonna say june... no, february... 23." she went to protest, and i said, "i know, i'm wrong, i was off by 10 days..." hit her birthday on the nail. LOTS of kino, IOIs...It was at this point that one of the girls tried to isolate me by asking me to join her outside for a cigarette, and a few followed, including my target and my wing (who the 9-set questioned me about... "who is this guy that just keeps hovering? oh, he's your friend? he's so shy and quiet.) While outside smoking, I casually mentioned that I there was an after party at the Foundation Room at the Showboat. The target expressed interest, and even said "I've never seen the rooms at the Showboat" another HUGE IOI... A group of 4 of us headed out to the Showboat, and I tried to direct everyone to the rooms right away. By going as a group, the though was that it would be non-threatening, and thus not look so obvious... the target said maybe later, so we went off to the Foundation Room, and grabbed a drink. I bought this round upon arrival, which might have been the wrong move... we grabbed a secluded couch in the corner, but i could NOT get her friend away. The target kicked off her shoes and put her feet on my knees... i started to massage her feet, and once i saw she was into it, I pushed her feet off my lap and said "that's all you get... you think i'm that easy, giving out foot massages like that... " she put her feet back on my lap, so I grabbed her shoes, slipped them on her feet and said "just like cinderella!" and placed them back on the floor. I tried to get my wing to get the mother hen away, but i think she sensed the collusion and said to the target it is time to go... they got up, walked out and went directly into the ladies room. this is where the evening ended. time of departure 4:45 am... I had a set open, raised it from a 2 set to a 9 set, got them to keep buying me drinks (5 rounds), kept the set engaged for almost 2 hours and eventually isolated the target by moving her to another location, however, the mother hen/ASD kicked in and I managed to not get even a k-close... for a first time out, I think i did a good job, but I'd really love feed back on this... |

dude im a total noob myself, but sounded like you handled it well. i like how you kept in mind to push/pull when you literally pushed her feet off. i cant say whether or not you buying drinks was a good idea - i just dont know. too bad your wing couldnt nuetralize the hen though. |
