Here's my first field report. But first, a little back story - I have massive approach anxiety and generally don't like dark crowded places. Part of what I'm doing is getting out there and talking with people as a way to get over my social anxieties. I got a haircut yesterday and went shopping and got all sorts of cool clothes so I was feeling like a million bucks. I wasn't peacocking, although I think that can help. I'm going back to the consignment store tomorrow to pick up a couple more outrageous shirts. Portland is not a great town for nightlife but I wasn't in the mood to drive 3 hrs to Boston. For a first night out it went OK. Went to many of the bars and clubs in the Old Port (Portland's excuse for a night club district). Started chatting with and hanging out with a bunch of local guys. I also had a goal of getting inside places that I had only driven or walked by in the past. This was just to get an idea of the scene and what places are cool and which are duds. I accomplished both of my goals - talk casually with 5 girls for the night. I didn't ask for any phone numbers but that wasn't the point. I am going to do the same thing tonight, but now that I know a bit more of the lay of the land I'm going to be a little more courageous. |

Welcome dude! Good stuff, its a good start to get out there and desynsitise yourself. you just gotta keep it up now; dont like stop and then revert back to your old ways like some of us  in fact call those people you met NOW and go out! Unless its like silly o'clock or something!Spark. |

Good to hear you getting out there man. My friend and I are new to the game down here in the Boston area, so maybe we could do it up sometime. |

Good job, nice to hear you had fun on your first night. At the end of the day that is what this is always about, Start working on incoporating some form of material into your interactions, even if that doesn't get you laid it will get you acustomed to learning to stack, multiple thread and build attraction.
