So a few months ago, I discovered this community and was very intrigued. I studied as much as I could find from all sorts of materials on the subject of pickup. I am 21 years old and have had moderate success with women, and have dated some very attractive ladies, but have never been consistent. I am not a virgin or anything like that, but I have always had difficulty with the approach and just having the confidence and knowing what to say. Once the conversation gets going I am usually ok, but I can always improve. (Sorry for the Bio, but that's my story)
I set a goal to open 5 sets tonight, and get a kiss or number close. (I fell short. Only opened 4, still dealing with AA.)
Early on I opened this HB7.5 who was sitting by herself waiting on some friends.
Me: "Don't tell me you're here by yourself? (I figured it was a good combination of an opener and a Neg)
Her: (Laughs) No I'm waiting on some friends.
Me: Ok, sounds good. Do you mind if I sit down? (Probably should have just sat down instead of asking, I know)
Her: (Smiles: IOI) Sure
I don't recall the specifics of the rest of the conversation but we talked about what we do for a living, and I didn't neg her again. We exchanged names, but I didn't get much farther than that. I did leave on a high note, and I told her that I would talk to her later on (I stayed at the bar for several hours because there was a football game I was there to watch in addition to trying out the art of pickup).
I didn't really run any routines on her. Honestly I was just scared that they would sound superficial and she would see right through me. I would find out how effective they are later on.
So, I talked to lots of people, mostly guys, and a few girls, and a couple HBs during the course of the game.
So after the game (My team won by the way which made it a lot better environment for pickup), I approached this HB7. She was actually 31 as I found out later. Some guys might not have called her a 7, but I like older women in general, so that's my personal opinion.
She actually opened me and initiated the kino by touching my shoulder and arm, so I didn't feel the need to DHV or neg too much because it seemed like she was already into me, so there wasn't a huge need for the A2 stage. (Please give me your opinion on this.)
I went with the "Wow, you blink alot" Neg, and it really worked.
I ran the 'Is kissing cheating?' routine on her, and that got her really engaged.
After about another minute, I went to the little 'spell' that Mystery taught the guy on the first season of the Pickup Artist, where you get the girls two hands together, and you get her to point her two index fingers up in the air with her hands interlocked almost like you're holding a gun. You point to the finger higher up than the other and say "this is me, the other finger is you. Right now we're together," pull the fingers apart "but in a moment, I'm going to have to leave. But before you know it," Take your index finger and rotate it around in a circle above and until the two fingers touch again, "We'll be back together."
(Side note: This worked, but it took a little longer than it did on the show. Does anyone have any tips on how to run this routine effectively? Also, I know it works, but I'm not sure why. If anyone knows why this is effective, please let me now in your reply thanks)
Well anyways she freaked out and I pointed to my cheek like Mystery demonstrated, and she planted a kiss right on it.
At this point, I was sold. Nothing like that has ever happened to me within that short amount of time after meeting a woman. I have no doubt that this is an effective system now.
Well we continued talking and I ran the "What have you got going for you other than your looks?" Routine. She was a teacher. (Double Bonus. I love older women, and I love teachers
)Long story short, I had a chance to go for the kiss close and I blew it. She eventually left with her friends, and I was left thinking about what could have been. (She told me that she lived nearby. F@#$!!!)
Overall, I didn't accomplish either of my goals (Opened 4 sets instead of 5, no kiss or number close), but from where I was a month or so ago, it is definite progress.
Things I learned:
1. The routines really work. It depends on you and your execution. Obviously not every line will work on every girl in every situation, but if you go in with a gameplan, it makes a huge difference.
2. There's nothing to fear in terms of rejection. Whatever weird scenario you have in your head, it won't be anywhere near what you expect.
Things I need to work on:
1. Approaching 3 sets or more.
2. Approaching sets with guys in them.
3. Working on the '3-second rule' of approaching as soon as you make eye contact, and approaching the first set you see when you walk in the door. Warming up the room.
4. Moving in for the kiss when she gives you IOIs.
5. Staying with a routine instead of freelancing.
Questions:
1. Is it ever a good idea to progress from A1 to A3 if she is giving you multiple IOIs? If she is obviously attracted to you, do you even bother negging her at all? I would love to hear people's opinions on this.
2. Is there anyway to make the 'spell' routine I talked about earlier go more smoothly. If anyone has any tips on how to set it up, I would be glad to hear them.
3. Also, why does this routine work? Why do the fingers always come back together? Just curious if anyone knows why?
Obviously I have a long way to go, but I am very excited about the possibilities!
