This will be short and sweet, hopefully. I have been in the USN for 2.5 years and love it. I started reading the books and looking at the videos while cruising around the West Pacific (USS-GW) and now I am going with my squadron back to the states. We got laid over in Hawaii; oh man! Anyway, being in Japan was great because I can drink (19yrs) and "fit-in" to the party scene. Last time I was in Hawaii last year (no PUA knowledge) I got the SHIT kicked out of me (literally) by some huge army dude (6'3" 230lbs, I know because the MP's jokingly told me after they arrested him) for talking and dancing with this smoking hot blonde in the club. Anyway, I go to the club with all my buddies who are of age. They put X's on my hands and I go in, feeling akward (even though I'm having fun) surrounded with my bros (most PUA's) because the girls notice and I can only play it off so much. I opened/mid-game'd with a few girls and had a few to choose from (didn't close, it was a small club and they could probably see each other) but ditched out because a few guys were staring at me and asking questions about my methods and one waved his fist from across the club. I don't know what but I started having flashbacks and dipped out; looking back I should have got some numbers, I might go back in a bit to do just that. Summing it up: Fear of AMOG's in club, even though I'm with all my buddies; I'm a tall-skinny guy and have to look out for my own! |

I'm tall and pretty skinny too (but still in shape due to boxing) but if you have that alpha air over you, no one will fuck with you. I've stopped a situation that was about to become a fight just by using my height, looking down on the guy putting my forehead on his and telling him he's definitely fucking with the wrong guy. I'm not telling you to use violence here, I'm just saying that with the right air & attitude those AMOGs will be more likely to see you as one of their bros, than a threat. |

I agree, usually violence between strangers in clubs/bars is an act of sexual frustration in on way, shape, or form; making friends or at least making a connection with the perceived troublemaker usually solves it before it becomes a problem. My big thing is that after someone makes that initial shove or verbal threat the social dynamic changes and the night is 80% of the time over with; he gets more friends, someone's friends makes the situation worse or jump in, etc. and then 90% of the time you are left with an empty bed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared to fight I just don't like the repercussions from the social circle and law enforcement (ESPECIALLY being in the military; I like my money and off-time, thank you) and know a LOT of guys get drunk and just like to fight (again, ESPECIALLY since I'm in the military). |

At least it's clear what you have to focus on and what kind of clubs you can and shouldn't go. It's VERY important you feel comfortable during game. Fighting lessons and training will be good for you. Not for if you fight, but to get the look that says "I'm not affraid of you, you won't have any luck with me if you fight me." Good luck.
