this is my field report
i have 2 pickup rules:
1. i don't try a pickup on a girl which is inside a too large mixed group of boys and girls.
2. i don't try a pickup on a girl which is located in a too much crowded place.
while being on a not too much crowded bus, i noticed a girl which i would like to date...
she was listening to music on her mp3 player.
Me: *points on my ear and look at her eyes*
She: *remove her earphones and look back at me*
Me: to which music you are listening to?
She: *laughs* are you truly interested in what i am hearing?
Me: yeah, i am.
She: *laughs* ok. *hands me 1 earphone*
Me: *place the earphone in my ear* is this hindian music?
She: *smiles* no, it's spanish music.
(basically at this point i don't have much to say and i don't know how to continue the conversation from here, so my brain just fires whatever he have on the music subject)
Me: I likes to listen to : ... , ... , ... , ... , ... , ... , kate ryan.
She: kate ryan?
Me: yeah, she haves : "voyage voyage" , "dechantae" , "ella ella"
She: i didn't knew that "ella ella" was one of hers..
Me: so, what is your name?
She: Tamar.
Me: my name is Yaniv.
*handshakes*
She: so , are you a student?
Me: actually , i finished being a student, now i am working...
She: in what field are you working?
Me: ....
She: *she comes to return one earphone to her ear and then stopps*
Me: *noticing what she just did and hence trying to number close* so, tamar, i would like to invite you to coffee, what is your number? *hands her my cellphone*
She: *writes down her number*
Me: well, i should go down in the next bus station because a friend is coming to visit me.
She: *smiles* ok, bye bye
Me: bye
i say :
70% that she will answer my phone call (because she don't have my number)
30-35% of a date.
5% that we will have sex.
1% childrens.
what was wrong here ( i think ) is that there was no rapport and just a bit dried and short conversation where in the end i asked for her number....
