| Post subject: | FR: HB8 at mall |
So I was out practicing combating AA in the field. first, i was at whole foods (genuinely getting something, not just for the purpose of fighting approach anxiety). There was this girl, HB6, in line behind me. idk, i seem to have the best time with situational openers, so i started a conversation about her shirt. i'm just trying to knock out AA right now, and she wasn't incredibly hot, so i didn't end up slipping in any negs or anything. (i'm not sure if it's good to neg or not w/o her having a bitch shield up). basically we played a guessing game of what the design-thingies on her shirt were (idk what they were, honestly i don't), calling them snowflakes, and then bubbles. it was rather random, but good practice starting conversations. ----------------- then i was at the mall. i was walking into the mall, and there was an HB8 sitting there at the table. i walked up and said something along the lines of, "Having lunch?" she was eating a muffin, so i busted on her for eating a muffin for lunch (C+F). Then we started talking. There was no actual anxiety, and i was able to hold a smooth conversation, while focusing on tonality, posturing, displaying confidence, smiling and gesturing and holding eye contact. Also, there was no bitch shield or anything - she was really receptive, so i didn't use a neg. i'm not sure if i should have anyway to increase attraction, or if that's pointless or even detrimental, so i didn't. (there is the entrance to the mall, and a wide walkway that connects to the main shopping area. there are tables in the middle of the walkway. she was seated on one side of one of those tables) unfortunately, from the way i was positioned, i couldn't use kino. i'll have to initiate accordingly next time when someone's sitting down; i sort of walked by and did a pivot, facing her, but i was on the other side of the table. (should i have come from behind?) i know i should have #closed, but i was lightyears upon lightyears ahead of where i thought i'd be, and i guess i have #closing anxiety too. so i introduced myself and left. but she works at a clothing store at the mall, so i should theoretically be able to resume the interaction and get the #close. any helpful feedback? (keep in mind these were mainly to help me overcome AA, these were not supposed to be full PUs) |

you did good, and it looks like you did a good first impression. so not getting the number was alright because you can reenitiate any time you want. your goal was to deal with AA so dont get too hung up on yourself. just keep working on AA and then go the next step, but let me tell you what Style once said what made him a good PUA is this "going the extra 20 percent" |

yeah man, you did real good. but as far as that hb at the table, if you wanted # close, you could have said something along the lines of: you: (fake a phone call) "blah blah blah, ill be right there, ok bye" well hey (starting to get up), my rides here and i gotta go meet him. but id love you get your number, you seem like a very interesting girl. her: lolz roflcopter hahaha okay mister pua, its xxxxxxx. haha. also, you could have had a chance to use some kino when you were standing up to leave. but dont be awkward/creepy about it, as youre trying to make a last impression. |
