Tonight my friends and I went to this local bar. It's the 1st bar I've been to since I began studying PUA like a month or so ago. I was excited but kinda nervous too and completely self conscious about what I would say or do in field. I get in and immediately run into this girl I went to high school with. She said I looked familiar and then we figured we went to hs together. She was always a very pretty girl but was overweight. However, she has since lost quite a bit of weight and is prob a solid 7-8 now. Anyway, the exchange didn't go too well and we went our seperate ways. I then went to go get my friends some beers and I ran into Justine (name changed) again. I tell her it's fancy seeing her again. She was laughing and smiling a lot, though I wasn't really saying anything too interesting or funny (it was really loud as we were right next to a speaker). I was probably just getting by on my looks to be honest. She introduced me to her cousin who she explained she took out for her 21st birthday. We briefly discussed what we had done since high school but it really didn't feel like I was escalating enough, so I told her I had to go back to my friends. I hung out with my friends for awhile with nothing happening. I didn't really spot any decent unopened sets, plus I was pretty nervous still and clearly felt out of my element. I actually ran into my friend's sister (who I hadn't seen since last summer) and re-introduced myself, but she said she didn't remember (she was kind of a bitch about it tbh) and I rolled off. At this point it felt like I just wasn't ready for this environment yet and thought about leaving. As my friends started walking to the other side of the bar, I ran into Justine and her cousin again. I told her there are better ways to talk to me than to stalk me. She was confused at first, which made for a really awkward 3 seconds, but then she started laughing and said she was sorry. We then talked about how I had done a lot of traveling in my work and that she had studied abroad in Europe for a year, and we compared war stories. At this point I mention that my friends had abandoned me, so she said we should go find them, even offering to come with me. I should've taken her hand as we did this to fight through the crowd, but I still felt uneasy about it so I didn't. I found my friends at a table on the much quieter side of the bar. My friend was bending over the table talking to everyone else so I joked, "This is my friend Mike (name changed) and this is Mike's ass." This drew a pretty big laugh from everyone. I then went with Justine to get a drink for everyone at the bar. Pretty embarassing moment as I dropped my credit card under the bar and couldn't find it. This was a pretty bad, albeit accidental, dlv. As the bartender found it on his side of the bar, she joked that I was too drunk from that 1st beer and she probably couldnt take me anywhere. We walked back to my friends' table. On the way back, I spotted another girl I went to HS with but hadn't since in the 4 years since, despite the fact that we live a few houses down from each other. She waved to me and I waved back. Justine and I talked for another 15 minutes or so. I actually broke out the "other than your looks, what do u have going for u?" line. This was probably the most progressive thing I did all night. She laughed and then said her sense of humor. I told her thats good because I happen to be hilarious. Again, she laughed. At this point, it was pretty clear to me that she was interested. My friends then wanted to leave and the girls said they were leaving too. I then told Justine that it was fun and we should do this again when I come back (I'm going to Vegas for 2 weeks tomorrow). She said yes, we exchanged numbers, and hugged. Ok whatever, not a very good pickup by any means and I prob relied on looks a bit too much here, but it got the job done. So my friends and I are waiting outside for Mike, who is still inside. At this point, I decide to go back in and talk to Morgan (name changed), my neighbor who I waved to earlier. She was at a table with 3 girls and a guy. I opened by saying, "Wow Morgan for someone who lives so close, I haven't seen you in way too long." She agreed and we started talking across her whole set, which was awkward, so I went into the booth behind her to talk to her over the partition. I then asked her if I can come in the booth, which she said yes, so I hopped over the partition in between Morgan and one of her friends. They thought this was pretty funny, although it was actually way easier than asking her other 2 friends to get up so I can get in. I then introduced myself to everyone in her group and caught up with Morgan (another hb7-8 who has lost a lot of weight since HS). We joked about how we never see each other or any of our other neighbors. We then joked about some daytime robbery on our block a few weeks back (I know terrible right?) and that how that was the most exciting thing that had happened on our block in the 10 years since I moved in. I then joked that the next thing our block needs to keep it exciting is a drug dealer or a sex offender. We laughed (risky joke, dunno why I said it). I was also talking to this girl in her group named Jill (name changed; HB 8,). I don't really remember what was said but she was very flirty. She then had to step out with her other friends for a minute, leaving me and Morgan to keep talking. Lots of laughs and such but nothing too special. Her friends then came back and said they had to go. I told Morgan we should hang out more. Jill then jumped in and said Morgan has a bottle of (insert random alcoholic beverage here) and that I should help them finish it. Hello Mr. IOI, how are you doing? I told her I was going to Vegas for 2 weeks but we can definately do that when I get back. I should've grabbed both numbers, but only took Morgan's. No hugs or anything here, so it's entirely possible I was in the friend zone, which isn't the worst thing in the world considering we're neighbors. Besides, I can always try to use Morgan to get to Jill. It wasn't the smoothest night and I have a TON of work to do. I wasn't exactly encouraged that both girls I opened were girls that I knew from high school and not complete strangers as 99% of girls will be. Still, it was a nice confidence boost to get 2 numbers and can only hope that with more studying and practice, my game will continue to improve. |

Yeah I'm just starting out too, and I run game on all the girls I know, they are way more interested in me now then ever before, sounds like you did good for first time. You got a lot of laughs and had fun, built confidence, which will help you get more cocky in the future. As far as not going back with them to help drink the bottle, shows that you're a strong man, with your priorities in place, DHV. But it was def. an invite to do more than drink the bottle. now u can always text and tell em how much fun your havin in vegas and tell them about a wild story. "wait til you hear what happened in vegas!" "what!! tell me?" "no time to talk now, its crazy out here!" or just dont reply then when u hang out shell prob ask ya what happened. you can say "well id tell ya, but what happens in vegas stays in vegas baby." u can work on a nice story with DHV to tell her too. Biggest thing I've learned so far is to say F.k it, be your self and who cares what people think about you. looks like you're on the right track. |

I'm pretty sure it wasn't an immediate invite since I had already told them I had a morning flight and she said, "We should drink it sometime." I realized this morning though that I couldn't remember what Morgan's friend real name was (I changed it in the story and now can't remember the real name). No idea how I'm gunna brick that back up. I may try that texting thing in a few days. They also both told me to add them on FB, which I will wait until tomorrow to do so it doesn't come off too desperate. However, I really never use FB, so I'm not sure what I'd do. I also stumbled onto a great opener that I forgot to post in the story. Mid conversation, one of the girls mentioned she had a friend named Jenna Fischer. I told her how I was instantly attracted to her just because of her name (which was true b/c I have a mega crush on Jenna Fischer from The Office) and then started talking about how having a celebrity name might affect your sex life. I asked if a guy had a name like "Hugh Jackman" would u be more interested in him or if a girl had the name "Jessica Alba". It actually made for a pretty decent convo and I could see it working in the future as an open. |
