Post subject:  My trip to Hastings

It was almost 8 and I need to stop being a keyboard jockey, so I took a little trip down to Hastings. I gave myself the mission to approach 3 girls. (I have AA)

When I got in the parking lot, I see these 2 HB5s about my age (20) standing in front of the store. I really had no idea what to say to them. I started walking towards them hoping to pull some opener out of my ass, but they soon went into the store, and I didn't say anything to them.

Then After a little snooping around in the CD area, I wanted to try the Dating For Dummies routine, where you go to the page with bad pickup lines (page 86 in case you were wondering) and hold it up to my face and say them to a girl. Well, After creepily walking past a girl sitting (a bit older) HB6 I stood there with the book in front of my face and waited for her to look up. I lowered the book and said "Come here often?" She gave me a dirty look and said in an annoying tone "Yes" Then I raised the book back up and said "What's your sign?" She said "Aries" It was really awkward and I felt a bad vibe. I quickly bailed.

That was probably the 2nd worst approach attempt I have experienced. However, It's a nice feeling to know that the next time can't possibly be that bad.

On my way out of the store, I see this an older (Mid 20s) HB7 checking out TV box sets. I make my there acting like I'm looking too. I try to see what she has in her hand, but be obvious about it. I then see her grab "Aqua Teen Hungerforce" I then ask her if she has seen the movie, and then we start talking for a bit about different TV shows. the conversion wasn't going anywhere, and just kind of ended. Then her boyfriend came (close call!)

I was about to go home, until I decided to go to Target. I get there, and see these 2 younger (about 18) HB7s walking my way, One of them drops something, and I yell out "Smooth!" they kind of give me a "This guy is an asshole" type of laugh. (I guess my neg was too much)

I continued walking. I saw 2 other girls walking, but had no idea how to approach them. Then I saw these 2 girls shopping for bras. Again, I had no idea how to approach. I got fed up and went home.

I'm trying.

Hi Liquid_Steel,

Hastings in the UK? Know it well if thats the case. Not really relevant.

You may find this vid on Youtube useful. It suggests holding off on approaching and observing and constructing openers for a number of days . Haven't tried it yet but seems logical

This one's interesting about general socialising

It's good that you are approaching. The Dating for Dummies bit was interesting as the girl did respond with her star sign

Keep working at it

That's a good video! Lately I have been trying to come up with openers for sets that I failed to approach. This is so hard! However, I'm leaps beyond the way I was when I just complained and did nothing!

I couldn't find the other link but it's to a David Wygant vid essentially saying the same thing.

Of the "masters" I like Carlos Xumas, Sinn and Gunwitch. They just say get out and do it. Wygant comes across as too aggressive to me but makes some excellent points.

Essentially people have to change their lifestyle so PU is a part of it
