Post subject:  My First Field Report: # close
so im down with the flu and am stuck at home with nothing to due...this one was a weird one...so leave me some feedback.

I was at the mall when I approached an HB 8 at a womens clothing shop (forever 21). i picked up a white shirt and a black shirt (women's of course). i asked her if i could get her opinion on something:

Row: hey, real quick, could i get your opinion on something?
HB8: sure
Row: white...or black? (as i put both against my body)
HB8: (cracks a smile) i like the white
Row: really? it cuts to short at the bottom and accentuates my hips tho...
HB8: (laughs) well i dont like the bow on this one
Row: hey, you seem like a really cool person. ill tell you what...put your digits in my phone and ill hit you up to chill sometime.


THEN SHE GAVE ME THE TEST....

HB8: ohh, i have a bf...

(she didnt have a bf...i knew it)

Row: hey, well thats great. im free next saturday. you come over to my place w/ur bf. he can cook us dinner, we could snuggle up and watch a movie and see what happens from there! (i hand her my phone)
HB8: (laughing hysterically...she puts her num in my phone) then she tells me to call her num to make sure she's got my num!


In conclusion, it was great experience for me because she was older...im 18, she looked 24. i just wanna know if i was too direct or not? give me something i could say after i got her opinion on the shirts.

Sounds like you did a great job. Confident, a little cocky, and good BF destroying material.

Next time you might want to talk a little longer. Most pick up gurus say that it takes at least 10 minutes to a half an hour to do a solid close where she won't flake. In a situation like that, after five minutes of chatting you can use the classic Juggler material:

You: (to her) "I'm enjoying this. You make me laugh. It
has been a long time since I met someone funny. But don't get
a big head. Anyway, I don't know what you have going on for
the next five minutes but I would like to sit down, have a cup of
coffee and chat some more."

Either way, great job. I probably wouldn't have thought of pulling out that BF destroyer until 10 minutes after she walked away 8)
