| Post subject: | Crash and burn in Tacoma |
So last night was my first opportunity to really go out and sarge in a long time. I've been a DVD junkie for way to long and don't really get out to social venues that often, mostly because i can't drive yet. This was a rock concert in the ghetto outskirts of Tacoma, Washington. No alcohol even though the place looked as though it had seen it's fair share of it before. I knew nobody there exept X and Cathy who came with me. X knew a couple of people there and instantly started talking to them. When the concert started he was up in the mosh pits punshing and shoving people around. The music was too loud to have a meaningfull routine going. I had a cheat sheet in my back pocket with a couple of openers. I've never used openers before and didn't this night either. Cathy was provided me with some preselection but not much as we were both just standing there watching and not really appearing to have a good time. I became more and more "in my head" and when X said to go up to a 2 set and get a phone number (He'd give me 20 bucks if i gave him 20 for the same) I was overcome by nervousness. I wanted to do it so bad but my mind just went blank and the ink on the cheat sheet just ran off. Later we sat down on a couch. My peacock item for the night was a t-shirt with an equalizer on the chest. It was a great tool but i had no way of carrying on a conversation once the initial "Wow" factor was gone(or i just ran off). Being from Europe usually makes it easy to make up some bullshit story of how things are a lot different and i think it's a big DHV if you tell the right things. Which leads me into the next part. While on the couch we were looking around at the sossage-fest. sets with girls in them where scarce. I spotted a two set with two petite blondes. The cutest one was clearly less dominant. I told chris this and he got up and said "come on!" Without hesitation i got up too, my nerves was killing me but i knew this was something i had to do. X walks up really close to them and just stares for what feels like an eternity. I'm standing there kinda akwardly and don't really know what to do. Obstacle: "Hi?" X: "Hi i'm X" X: "And this is Edge, he's from Norway" HB: "Wow, you came a long way" (AN IOI, i couldn't belive it!) Edge: "You know these concerts are way more rock to the core in Norway, see the leather jacket" HB: Haha Obstacle to HB: "Come on, let's go smoke" (FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU - Rage!) Gone. The evening continues sitting there chilling on the couch. I borrow some guys laser pen and have some fun for a couple of minutes but still not much other than thinking "Damn it, i don't go out enough" when the evening comes to a close i'm seeing a beautifull HB 9 brunette with her friends. I Have a routine ready for them but somehow i toss that idea away and just set myself a goal of approaching them. I go up to them and they all turn towards me, obviously very open to be talked to. Edge: Hey, i just feel like i had to say this Edge: (turn towards the HB girl) You are just beautifull, i couldn't leave without telling you It could only go one of two ways. Either they would smile and say thank you, or they would think i was some kind of weird drunk guy. Their reaction told me the latter and i left the place happy to have approached but thinking of what an idiot i made of myself. The only reason i said that was because i wanted to push myself to approach just one more set. (out of a staggering two total) So what did i not do: False time constraint, neg, have a routine, kino At least i smiled Any responses, or tips? |

Hey man, it's the same for everyone when they first start out. And if anyone says differently, they're probably lying. Every set you open will be a lesson, and the worse it goes the more you'll learn from it. I bet you sure as hell won't forget your openers, gambits and FTRs from now on! But you'll have to go sarging on a regular basis (every 2-3 days at least) otherwise you'll lose your rhythm. You can create a databse of PUA info and learn every single item, but frankly it's boring and you'll only really remember it if you've got an experience to associate it to. If you've got major AA, try the opening missions in "Rules Of the Game", or go sarging with proper wingmen who are as interested in the Game as you. Good luck mate |
