Out with a few friends and my pivot, I was wearing my usual black hat. This HB8 passes our table on her way to the toilet, and when she's walking back past us i go up to her and say: Me: "Sorry, can i ask you ask something?" HB8: "Umm, yeah, sure" Me: "My friend here says the hat makes me look gay, but I like it. What do you think?" HB8:" Hahaha, naaaah, it looks really good!" Me:" OK, just a sec please" I turn around and pull my pivot over. Me:"Ok, now can you say that to her face or she'll never shut up?" HB8:"Haha, he looks good in the hat." Pivot:" Yeah, but wouldn't it look better on me?" Then my pivot takes my hat off of my head and jams it on hers HB8 *giggles* :"Yeah, it looks good too." Me:"Well yeah, you girls have it easy, we actually have to work to look good." *We all laugh* Me:"K, nice meeting you, I'll join you later if she starts getting smart again." She laughs and goes back to the bar where her friend's waiting. I thought I'd go up to her in a little while, but I went to bathroom and when i came back, she was gone. Don't know if it was a good start, but i'm a bit disappointed. |

You should have invited her to sit down with your for a moment and introduced her to your friends. After a while of conversation then basically merge sets. Take you and your friends to meet her friends. Nice big set, good energy, and you get the girl!

From what I see, it doesn't seem like you rooted yourself enough in the set to build any attraction. How you used your pivot was well done, however saying guys need more work to look good is hardly a neg that is going to get some tension going on. Did you apply any kino as early as you could? As for her leaving, well, that could have been anything. She could have been planning to leave after going to the bathroom for all you know, that's why when you open a set, try to at least get some attraction down before you let the set go for awhile - as to reduce the chance of more disappearing acts. |

well it depends on how long were you in the game. For me it was a heel of a start, but I would have prepared something to say next and engage her following the multi thread principle. also would have took advantage of the momentum given by the hat to continue with her and if she mentions her friends, one way or another, joining and befriending them. |
