Post subject:  FR: Succes with Speeddating

Went to a Speeddating event yesterday. It's where single girls and guys get to meet a lot of possible matches during a few hours. At this event, it was 4 minutes per session, with 19 women and 16 guys pressent.

My intent was simply to practice openers, negs and a little DHVs on some women. Last time (6 years ago) I was a total AFC and did’nt like the event. This time it rocked!

I was dressed super-cool, and also peacocked. The thing is, the women only meet each guy for 4 minutes, so first impressions are important. As is standing out. All the other poor AFCs there looked like lawyers, computer geeks and boring guys in general. I was the only one with a hat, rings, neclaces, wristbands and cool shoes, so I was the easiest guy to remember. I was also the most energetic.

Entering the room, I immidietly startet talking, where most people where shy and quiet. There was one HB10 there, I talked to her in both our time slot, before the start of the event and in recess, where the others just stood there.

Practicing was fun. It’s really amazing how much you hear the same lame AFC-type questions from the girls (!) when you have your 5 minutes with them. I worked hard to bring the talks in more exciting directions, and used a few opinions openers (including Jealous girlfriend and C&U smile), and even the Truth Game (alternate questions, must tell the truth, may not re-use question) and it worked fine. They smiled and most gave IOIs.

Result: When I was there last time, as an AFC, I ticked "yes" to more that 50% of the girls on my list... and got no matches. Yesterday I chose only 5 out of 19 women (including the 4 best HBs) and I got 3 matches! So, I did get noticed this time 8)

I did’nt get the HB10 (but the only 8 and the two best 7s), but I also failed with her. I failed to neg in a proper manner, and I think I came out as sligthly needy with her... dammit. Learned from that. Good thing she seemed conservative and uptight, hehe... I was actually close to not putting her on my list, but choose her on principle, since she was a 10. Next time I won’t. My succes with the other three was that I clearly came out with the higher value, by being confident, talkative, inventice and smiling. I also got strong IOIs from more that half of the rest of the women, but they where not worth the effort (5s to 7s, some a bit chubby too).

So... now I have 3 upcomming first dates with very nice women, from two hours of fun work. Will go out gaming again friday night, need bar-practice.

I can recommend Speeddating, if it's organized in your city. The girls can be hot, and the guys are mostly introvert AFCs who can’t hold their own in a social setting.... :o)
Ducks in a barrel? I got all but one of the best girls, so I’d say that.

Yes, I'm not the gratest fan of that method either, and only did it for practice. But it can be good, as I experienced.

I think HBs would consider it out of beind tired of not meeting Mr. Right out on town. If all she meets are AFCs offering to buy her drinks, she won't get to build any attraction.

As Mark Dice (another Dice) :) shows in a little interview-video on his site, HBs are often single for a long time, though many guys don't think so.

Tonight, it's real game, not ducks in a barrel 8)

i pretty much was very energetic and open but speed dating is just terrible. some girls will just tick "NO" for no reason... thats even if they laughed and gave IOIS during the actual event... i think my conversations where a little too smooth so they are very suspecious for some reason
