Last night I was up pretty late and started to come up with some really absurd things to try out. I read some post by Tyler Durden and decided to emulate his ideas of being flat out ridiculous. Here's the scenario: I walk into the gym. It's 7pm on a sunday night. There's one guy in his 40's doing some beach lifts and a blonde hb7 working at the counter. I've talked to her a few times before, but nothing beyond boring surface conversation. I know her name - let's call her Skirt for now. I put my hands down on the main desk and give her a look like i have something very important to say: Her: Hey What's up? Me: I'm looking for a guy. He's about this tall (stretch arms really far vertically) and this wide (make a pretty wide width) and he likes to walk around with a big pogo stick. (pause and raise one eyebrow) You haven't seen him now have you? Her: no (almost says it as a question) I begin to walk off Her: Are you serious? Me: Oh (pause) and stay cool (make a funny gesture with my hand) Her: Laughs and just sits there dumbfounded I walk off straight faced and go lift weights. I don't look at her at all. Later on I need to grab some wrist straps which are right by her. So I address her again, this time with a neg Me: Are you always that gullable around new people? Her: what? Me: You always that gullable? Her: (smiles and blushes) noooo I just didn't catch on until you walked off Me: Cmon! Why would I be looking for a guy with a pogo stick?! Her: I dunno!! (laughing while saying this) I go back to lifting. Later the one guy that was at the gym leaves and I need a spot on a hanging workout - So I had to ask her. She was totally cool with it and i didn't give her any shit. we fluffed a bit i finished up my workout and I went into the locker room. I came back out and decided to try a closer I came up with a few nights ago. Me: Okay Skirts, I'll call you on your cell phone later this week Now at this point she's supposed to say something like "how do you know my number?" or "you don't even have my number". I was planning on her saying something like that. My response would have then been "well i was going to go home and guess it, but if you insist I guess you can give it to me." But here's what she said instead: Her: Ok (confused look on face and then smiles thinking I'm messing with her again - like she just figured me out) I realize this so I smile back making a face that's like "ooh good job!" and I leave. So I didn't get the number. I think though that this girl just isn't very sharp. She laughs but it's just a little late. I'm going to try this closer again at some other point with some other girl, but at the very least I've definately established rapport with Skirts. Next time I see her I'll say something like "hey wierdo" and take it from there. To truly understand this you have to understand that i did it with a cocky funny attitude. Otherwise it wouldn't flow well. As always constructive criticism is welcome CPT |

Hey cool routine, the gym is always a good place for hot gurls hanging out. Only thing i would have changed in that routine above is, when you said to her ill call you later on and she was like "uh...ok...." I would have said to her something like this in a cocky funny way: "Your really not very sharp are you? How can i call you later if i dont have your number dummy?" Then aim your phone straight at her heart and command her: "Stick your number in here and ill drop you a txt later on" By aiming the phone straight at the gurls heart, its like an autopilot reaction for them to just bump their number in without thinking about it. But it seems you have some decent rapport with her anyway so im sure you will get a second chance at it. |
