Post subject:  FR: My first field report - opening at the beach

This is my first legit field report on here. It very long - I know. I'd love to hear some input especially on the exboyfriend factor (read ahead).

______________________________________________________

My buddy and I went to the beach today with the intent of discussing principles of game, catching sun, bouncing some ideas off of eachother and ultimately sarging a bit.

The scene was very busy, but there were hardly any girls our age there. I did spot a 5set some of which were for sure 18 (relax I'm only 22), but the fact that it was questionable led me to err on the side of caution.

I walked around confidently like I owned the world. I wore a half smirk on my face and let my body be comfortable and loose while i was walking. These are all tips given in the Body Language section on AMOGging. I felt the power given to me by others by walking in this way. Even other dudes were saying hi to me (who i presume were on the prowl as well). It was surprising

Spikes and I sat down on some chairs we brought and we started talking. We completely ignored the world around us, held confident but relaxed postures and I made a chapel shape with my hands as I explained my views on things, much like professors do when they teach (the chapel thing is not my idea. I believe i read it on the forum. I find it an excellent method for conveying authority and confidence.)

While talking I noticed people looking at us. They must have been really interested in what we were saying, because it must have looked very interesting.

I noticed a 2 set to the right of me both laying down and enjoying the sun. I didn't look, just saw out of my peripheral. It was hard for me to even evaluate them on a scale since then I'd be staring. So I knew they were there but I ignored them.

After conversing with Spikes for a while I decided to use a canned opener since I couldn't think of anything better at the moment. I wrote down the lyrics to "What I got" by Sublime on a piece of paper. Just then one of the members of the 2 set got up and left. I then decided to move in with the aspiring musician opener. Here is how it went:

Me: I'd like your opinon on something
HB6: Okay, what it is?

(I sit down next to her about a foot apart)

Me: Well, I'm an aspiring musician and I've been working on these lyrics for a while. I just finished them now. I'd like to know what you think of them

HB6: Ok, Cool! Yeah, I'll read them.

(I hand her a folded piece of paper i was hiding in my hand)

She unfolds the paper and reads the lyrics. She smiles.

HB6: You wrote this huh? (sarcastically)

Me: Yeah you like it?

HB6: Man these great lyrics, I can't believe you came up with this (she knows I didn't write them but she's playing along)

Me: Yeah well, I went and swam out to the other side of the lake. On my way back right about in the middle over there I had this epiphany and decided what to write. In fact that's right when I decided to be a musician. I've been a musician for about 10 minutes and this just came to me!

HB6: Wow that's awesome! You're gonna be so good if you keep it up!

(I noticed that this was about the end of the opener so I began to transition, but she took the reigns out of my hands)

HB6: Do you come here often?

blah blah blah... she asks me for my name (IOI) i give it to her and she introduces herself to me

We talked about the weather, we talked about the city, we talked about school, and we talked about work. There were definately some silent moments but i refused to let them be awkward simply by just believing that I was the shit and that me just sitting there quietly was an awesome thing for me to be doing. She filled in the gaps whenever I stopped talking.

Her friend comes back, which she has conveyed to me was her cousin. She was a 7 but her age was questionable so I didn't bother.

HB6 to HB7: Check it out Captain wrote me a song!
HB7: No way!
(she begins to hand the piece of paper over, but I interrupt)
Me: Hey now! That's for you only. If you're going to go around and show off my work I'll have to take it back.
HB6: Okaaaay, fine i'll put it in my bag.

Her cousin says she needs to call someone and leaves again (probably to give us some privacy). This is where I got hit with a curve. We talk about the lake some more and my friend Spikes. I tell her he and I met working as houseboat and jet ski orientators.

HB6: Oh my god
Me: What?
HB6: My boyfriend did that. Yesterday he said we need to take a break because he said he didn't have time for me. I just said I don't play that shit and left him.

(Shit, I think to myself. I can't believe this! I try to recover by making myself scarce)

Me: Well you probably don't want anything to do with me then (I turn away like i'm gonna get up)
HB6: Nah, I'll give you a shot
Me: Alright I warned you though!
HB6: (shakes her head and smiles)

(phew recovery successful)

At this point I felt like being done with the conversation because I wanted to end while I was ahead. I fluffed for another minute or so, so she didn't think I was intimidated by the ex-boyfriend factor.

Me: I'm seriously dying of thirst.
HB 6: Yeah?
Me: yeah seriously. I'm gonna head back over to my bag and grab a drink.
HB 6: Okay, It was really nice meeting you!
Me: Same to you. I'll see you in class then right?
HB 6: Yeah definately, or maybe I'll just see you around you know?

At this point I could have number closed, but considering she will be in my chem class I decided I could hold out till next time I saw her (which is this monday). That way I can decide whether or not I want to actually give this a real shot. I was just practicing game - not trying to actually start something.

I feel like it went well, but I also feel like I lucked out that she was so receptive and able to fill in the gaps of our conversation. After my opener I didn't realy know what to say and I pretty much just fell back into discussing the usual things - but it wasn't really interrogative. The ex-boyfriend thing caught me off guard but I lucked out again. She didn't seem to be put off by the fact that we used to work at similar places.

I included all information I found to be relevant. I would love to hear some constructive criticism on this experience.

Thanks for reading to the end.

Nice work man, day sarging can be intimidating sometimes. If you pulled in confidently on the opener, which it seems as if you did, dont be suprised that she was receptive to you. With the ex boyfriend thing, again you didnt luck out, you played it cool, give yourself the credit you earned haha.
With not following it through... thats a tricky one. I myself, over the past three weeks have been pushing eveything. In social situations it can be arkward if you get rejected by someone you see everyday, (like at class at uni) but practice is practice. I tried last week on the virgin in the unit below mine and got rejected. It was the talk of the college I live at the next day. But, come thursday night, i pulled a HB8 out in front of all of those girls so she will now be like, fuck i blown it haha.
Yeah its all chioce following it through. I am going to try and hit up a girl to go to the beach with me thats in my uni class.

If you wonder weather or not to push for it think of what the ALPHA male would do in that situation.

keep up the good work bro
