Post subject:  FR: Running the cube... though it raised a few questions...
So, I had effectively isolated the HB8, had some good kino going on, and a solid rapport. She giggled at every neg, and I knew I had her on the ropes... so I decided to run the cube.

Her cube was about the size of a hot air balloon, red-purple, and floating with the horizon running about through the middle. Her ladder was aluminum, sturdy, with solid evenly spaced rungs, and leaning up against the front of the cube so that it just reached the bottom. Her horse was white, with a few spots on its bum (prime negging!), good "horse sized" and grazing away from the cube. There were all kinds of small flowers all around, that were sparse up close, and getting thicker as they got farther away. There were other details that raised questions, but I'll get to those at the end. I didn't do the storm, 'cos I felt like it was already dragging on.

So, long story short, I told her she has a healthy ego, but not over the top. She's got big dreams, but not so big that she's afraid to go and get them. The red and purple meant a mix between passion and a sort of nobility... or that she avoids the common. She has a good network of friends... not too many, not too few... but good friends, that she can rely on, but they more often rely on her for support than she does for them. She's worried that the closer she gets to her dreams, the farther she would leave the friends behind. I teased her about the white horse with a few spots on its bum, then told her that she likes men to be self-reliant, strong, and independent, but not too far away - she can have him when she wants to. She loves children, but prefers little ones - the older they get, the less she wants them around.

She was blown away... to the point of being speechless... then dissected everything, rephrased it, justified it, and accepted it. That gave me great insight into what makes cold reading work so well. They pick the parts that apply, and focus in on them so much that they ignore what may have been a bad guess. The game just gets her mind started, and selective memory does the rest. Genius.

The questions I have are about some of the other descriptors...

She mentioned the position of the cube as being off to the right, about 2/3 of the way, and that it was facing her, angled off to the right and away, like in a 3D drawing. Is there any interpretation that can be drawn from this?

Everything she said about the positioning of her cube screamed an uncommon creativity to me. I bet she practices some sort of art, or desires to be some sort of artist. I've never ever heard about anyone's cube floating in the air while the ladder goes from the ground to the cube. That's interesting as fuck and now I wanna meet this chick.

99% of the time people's cubes are going to be positioned in way that you are facing one of the flat sides. If they see one of the corners pointed to them in the scene, however, that means they're more in-tune to their creative side.

FYI i just ran the cube, 1 response I got was a total mockery and got called gay a couple times, but in the end it was pretty right on.

The other, the big ego she said was totally off because she is very self conscious and hopes that her weak ass horse is not who she is going to marry, but I said it was simply a suggestino of who she envisions herself with.

Pointy end = creative... got it. :)

Yes, she's a musician... and a very cool chick. I think most people would be better off from meeting her.

Really now, when I first read about the cube, I imagined my cube in a more "diamond" orientation. Vertex/corner on top and bottom, with 2 faces of the cube semi-facing me (1 pointing 45 degrees up from horizon and the other pointing down)... i hope you're good at spatial geometry/picturing things in ur head! ...so i guess im different from the norm, but let me tell you something... I am *NOT* creative. On a scale of creativity of 1~10, 5 being average, id be about 3!

Yeah, right, buddy. I don't believe you for a second. You're probably going to be one of the most creative engineers you know, if you aren't already.

Just because you're not all that into something like art or music doesn't mean you lack creativity. Who else but a very creative technical minded person would imagine a cube like that with a vivid technical description? Some architectural structures can be way more "creative" than most paintings.

Bronco, check out Tradecraft: The Art and Science of Cold Reading by... holy shit it doesn't have an author lol but it says it's a "trickshop.com publication." Also spend a shitload of more time in-field talking to girls to develop a stronger emotional intuition.

Fantastic book there, read it through a few times and incidentally just loaded it onto my ipod 10 seconds ago to read on a train journey this afternoon!
