The Scenario: I'm at my friends wedding. It's a casual affair. No one's in a suit or anything. I baked the wedding cake for it (yes this is relevant). Girl comes up to me to ask about it, so I start explaining what kind of cake it was and how I made it. Literally, a few seconds in, her attention drifts. Mid sentence I stop because she looks at someone one else, waves and says hi to them. She looks back and I continue. Her attention drifts, again within seconds, and mid sentence she looks at her phone and starts texting with someone. So I'm just staring at her asking myself "What the fuck is your deal you ADHD bitch?!". It pissed me off, and made me look stupid for revealing myself for nothing. The Goal: To get all to know not to fuck with me or my time. If you want me to open up about something I accomplished or my life in general, you better fucking mean it and listen closely or simply don't bother. All while retaining my lovable personality. The Plan: Looking back, there's no way to tell this girls intent, but there's certainly ways to draw a line in the sand, right off the bat without being a dick. I'm really eager for this to happen again. The approach I'm looking to try is to deny the information she's asking for. "OMG did you seriously make that?". "I might've had a hand in it, maybe". "Wow. How did you make it?"... Here's where I'm stumped. I don't want to strike a bargain. So no tit for tat. I want to build it up so she's either begging me to tell her or she shows that she had no intention of listening to begin with. My initial thought was something like, shake my head no and say "It's man stuff, you know?". All I need is to hook em so I can pull em along for the ride until, as I mentioned, they either beg or show they weren't interested to begin with. This isn't pickup per se but still relevant |

This IS pickup related. Your instincts are right on. Get them curious and they'll be eating (cake) out of the palm of your hand. Reveal very little about how you made the cake for example and they'll be begging to know. |

Here's what you should do: Not care. Seriously, why are you getting so butt hurt over this? A stupid idiot of a girl stopped paying attention to you. The amount you let this affect you should fall somewhere between "Fuck, my shoelace is untied" and "A damn bird just took a shit on my windshield." You are letting a complete stranger hijack your emotional state. I'll tell you what I would have done: I would have talked openly about my involvement. None of this dangling carrot bullshit. If she cares, cool. If she doesn't, she can literally disappear into a cloud of dust for all I care. If she gets distracted while I'm openly sharing information about myself, I'll turn to my left and forget she exists. Then I'll zero in on the chicken on a stick or salami platter on the table over there. Then I'll forget I was ever even speaking with that dumb cunt. I'll take two steps over to the table with the food on it. I'll slam some salami. Maybe a crab ball or two. Probably high five another dude at the table. "These crab balls are amazeballs!" From there, I'll ,ove on and enjoy my life and never dedicate one second of mental energy to a girl who is as irrelevant to me as the whether in seven states away right now. Coming up with conversation gambits and strategies to woo the attention of people who are disrespectful and miserable is not an optimal use of your time. |
