I'll make this brief. Two nights ago, my friend and I were at the McDonald's drive-thru. I was blaring some music through my subwoofers when the cute cashier made a comment. We talked about subwoofers for a minute until our food arrived. I was thinking about her the next day and said fuck it, I should go back and try to get her number. I wrote my name and number in some red marker on a piece of paper, and was preparing myself for what to say to her. Didn't want to ask her number at the drive thru with cars on my ass, while she's working. Turns out she wasn't even working the drive thru, she was inside cleaning. Perfect, I thought. I pull around and walk inside, and she asks me what I need. Me:"hey.. Aren't you that girl from last night?" HB:"oh... Hey, its you! The guy with the subwoofer." (Laughs) Me:"yeah, that's me, the guy with the subwoofer. Anyways, can I have a large water? (Already ordered food lol) Girls gives me the cup, I go to fill it up and she starts cleaning totally away from her coworkers, no customers in the building. Such a perfect opportunity, but I kill it: Me:"Hey, I didn't catch your name..?" HB:"*name*" Me:"oh, cool. Well, honestly I didn't come here to get a cup of water, I thought you seemed cool and so I figured I'd ask you if you'd like to see me outside of work sometime." HB:"Sure (smiles) do you want my number?" *number close*. I'm a little awkward talking to her after this point because she was Still cleaning and I kinda wanted to get the fuck out of there. Eventually I say I'll hit her up to make a time to meet and walk out. When I get to my car, I realize I messed up quite badly, because I never even told her my name. Shit, I thought. Well I still had my name and number on the piece of paper. I walk back in, and say I'm pretty sure I didn't introduce myself. She said she was wondering about that, and no I didn't tell her my name. I introduce myself and go to shake her hand, and she holds out the most limpwristed dainty handshake I've ever seen. "What is that? Cmon, give me a real handshake" I say, here's my number, and give it to her. Them I leave feeling pretty confident. I look her up on FB to make sure I spell her name right before the opening text, and she has a boyfriend, clearly from her photos. I text her about 3.5 hours after the close, "hey *name*, its 'that subwoofer guy.'" No response. Obviously I fucked up in many places but I was hoping for some detailed responses, this is my first number close after all. It might not even be her number... Wouldn't know. Havent called it yet. But I know I didn't build enough rapport, DHV, Or emotional connection. Other than that, I chalk it up to her having a boyfriend already. P.s. sorry for the novel |

You did a nice job of analyzing your "set" with this analysis. You can do all of the things you mentioned in a very short time, but it's good to do them so the girl knows something about who you are, and not just some random guy.

You seem like a confident guy. Congrats on actually taking action and number closing. I'm not so sure that you should've gone back in to tell your name... in a perfect world you'd have already told her, but I'd rather tell her via text "Hi, it's Jay (Subwoofer guy) ......" Don't worry about her having a boyfriend, though - just keep doing what you're doing, you did well for your first approach. VERY well infact - my first approach was fuckin' dreadful and ended with "ok, cya... you look nice by the way" then I walked off quickly, while she awkwardly thanked me for the inappropriate compliment... with no kind of number/date/kiss close or anything good at all, lol. |

I had a similar first approach. Had a lil chat and then scampered away (was just glad it went decently) but felt a little bit like a little bitch for scampering away when the girl was giving decent vibes.
