Today was bit of a disaster.... My original plan was to go into town do a bit of clothes shopping and then try and do the aftershave test with the ladies the goal was 50-100...for various reasons the plan went tits up..ie. a friend wanted to come shopping which kind of put the plan on hold. We shopped for ages then my mate went to go meet some girl he wanted to bang, so i though lets get to work...went into selfridges got aftershave on each wrist and started looking for HBs,there was a distinct lack of!!!So to get warmed up i asked a shop assistant... went to another shop asked one girl about 26..she seemed startled when i asked her,laughed, but gave me her opinion,I then moved on with a bit more confidence. Went into the bookstore and saw another person about 22-24 HB7-8 so i went up to her... Me:Excuse me can i ask for your opinion HB:(Looked at me as if im some sort of weirdo) Me:dont worry,im trying some new aftershave and i wondered if you would tell me which one you prefer HB: (gave me another weirdo look)I'd rather not thankyou and walked off. To start off, felt abit embarressed because i didnt expect her to say no, however looking back on that small interaction i learnt a couple of things. 1)Ive still got a cold, she prob didnt want to talk to some snotty 19 yr old and get a cold herself. 2)I think my body language might of been a bit dodgy. 3)when i said dont worry might of give her reason to worry????(not sure about that one though) so i prob creeped her out, but you know what, i dont care because ive learnt from it. After that i went home, nowhere near the 50 mark(3) but im feeling ill and should prob wait till im feeling better then go out and do it again. One thing that did stop me from going up to more people though, was if the shop was busy i felt like everyone in the shop would be listening to what i had to say???if anyone knows what i mean?? Anyway thats it really Comments welcome Beno. |

Alright bud, despite my lack of credibility on this forum I do have some advice for you. First of all, when women shop alone, especially at such a quiet setting as a bookstore, they become very defensive to conversation. This is unless of course they are the outgoing type; if so, you engage exactly how you did (but maybe with a less random opener). If you were in the fragerance section of the mall, this opener would be totally relevant; however, since you were in a bookstore, you should try and use another opener. Also, did you approach the woman with purpose? For example, did you see her and walk directly towards her then bust out the opener? Or did you walk towards another destination, do kind of a double-take, then stop and ask the woman. Make sure she see's your approach because if you approach from her back she may give you a look similar to the one you got. You could even do an opener relevant to the section she is in. For example, if she is in the magic section (rare, but possible) bust out the ESP routine. If she is in the study guide section looking at an LSAT book, say something about how your buddy just wrote the LSATs and read that exact book and Aced it. OR, you could say he failed it with that book if the woman is an HB10+. |
