| Post subject: | Graze: Day 1 |
This is a bit continued off my post that I introduced myself with so I'm sorry if there is a slight misunderstanding. So my first day started off not so great. There was a 3 set of girls in my one class. I approached and opened simple and easy, but I got so excited that I did, that I literally ejected immediately. After that I had plans to go to out during the day to try, but I kept holding my self back and just disappointed myself. I kept saying I would do some stuff at Cross Country Practice, but when I got there I was barely able to talk to any one, initially. During the run at least I handful of people would make small chit chat but nothing major. Fortunately a guy who ran my pace came up and we started a good conversation. I was still down because I was epicly failing my mission to talk to and at least approach more girls. So I hung out with some friends I knew back in high school and talked about the game and as most people are when I talk about it they seemed interested and wanted to see it work. We went to get my buddies girlfriend who lived a little away. Its about 8 or 9 at this point. And then it finally happened. A 2 set step out of the apartment building and my friends say go now! Not to look like a AFC after I have explained how it all worked, I started walking a brisk pace and caught up to them, and using multiple things to not come off creepy, as I pass them I drop the opener. We talked for a short while when I realized I was walking mad far from the car and would have to run back, I simply went with, "It was nice meeting you, I have to get to my friends." It was a light eject but I did it. And of course I get back to the car and 2 more girls walk by, and they say do it again. So this process repeats 3 times total. On the third time I finally get the nerve to say, "Its a big campus and chances are I will never see you again so by chance would I be able to get your number? " There reply was they couldn't because they both have boyfriends. Now weather this is true or not doesnt bother me, I was just super happy that I actually openly asked flat out and the reply wasnt WTF or some over reaction. I am criticizing everything I did so I can get better at it, but walking and talking is a lot harder then I thought. I think back to the show "The pick up artist" where the guys have to go to an area that people are walking and try to get a conversation going and how hard it was for them, granted they werent masters but as an AFC its nice to know that I was able to go a block or two before I would feel the need to leave. Please comment or give advice, I am always willing to learn anyway possible. |
