So I am sitting here watchin an ESPN 30 on 30 show about Marcus Dupree. He was a running back in the 80´s that was ¨the best I have ever seen¨. Seems like everybody who is interviewed on this show says that same thing about this guy "If you did not see him, you would not believe him". In case you missed the movie, here is a quick summary. This kid had more "Talent" than anybody had ever seen. He walked onto the University of Oklahoma and was the best player on the team as an 18 year old freshman. Any of us who have played sports know, and 18 year old is not as physically developed as a 22 year old, this is unheard of. Now to the point. This guy was not the greatest player anybody had ever seen at 18 because he worked harder. Far from it. From the interviews with him, and the stock footage, we know that he was good because he was good. Natural ability, good genes, call it what you want, but he had not worked harder in 18 years on this earth than the 22 year olds on the Oklahoma team. So why bring this up? What does this have to do with girls? This guy is the male personification of the hot chick. Everything "Just happens" to him. Everybody wants him, so they line up on the porch of his house. They beg his mama to let them pay her off so he plays for them. He just did what he did, and let the world unfold as it may. This is just how a girl who has been pretty her whole life sees things. It is not unusual that the guy at Starbucks gives her a free coffee, this happens all the time. It is also not unusual that guys get nervous, fall all over themselves and they can react any way they want (bitchy, nasty, nice, choose your poison) and they are not going to be reprimanded, because they are hot. It's amazing, you can do whatever you want with no repercussions. Then after you have fawned over her for months (sometimes years) she ends up with a guy that treats her like shit, that uses her, takes her money, is horrible. You would worship her, buy her flowers, introduce you to your Mom, even give her your name, but no, she loves and will not get over Johnny Badass..... Of course she won't. Johnny Badass is the only one who has ever not fawned over her. Ever said no... He was different and she was addicted. I am a student of human behavior. This is the second time I have watched this program and if you look at it as he has the same social situations as a hot chick, it is quite profound. Fellas, they are right. Everything you know is wrong. Your instincts are wrong. The girls you know have had experiences that you can not identify with. You want them because of how they look, but we all have the baggage of our entire life to deal with. The Masters on this forum are right. "Inner Game" as they call it, is the only thing that matters. Not because it is going to get you laid, but because it is the only way any of us can truly be happy. FYI, Marcus Dupree played pro ball, got all his money stolen, became a truck driver, and in the end, only wanted the approval of his Mama. 90,000 screaming fans, the entire country fawning over, all of that years later didn't matter. When your dream girl ends up with the fat slob who does not pay her any attention, realize why. |
