FR #9 Day Game

Location: Downtown San Francisco
Objective: None, was just out and about to eat and try and wake up
Outcome: # close with young HB9 waitress

I was exhausted. I'd gone cycling the day before and mustn't have eaten enough, I was feeling very depleted. Slept for two hours in the middle of the day after getting up and having a good breakfast.

Got myself cleaned up and staggered out to downtown SF to get some lunch. Was going to go to Chevy's where there might be good gaming opportunities, but Loui's Diner looked fine so I went in. Was served by young HB9 waitress who took my order.

Her expression was a bit stoic, I thought I'd cheer her up with a witty delivery of the order followed by a neg about her feather earrings.

Speedbird: "Nice earrings, but don't they tickle your neck?"
YHB9 [immediately starts smiling]: "Oh thank you! They do a little, but I don't usually notice them. In fact I'd forgotten I was even wearing them!"
Speedbird: "Oh well, sorry to have reminded you!"
YHB9: [laughs and goes off with my order]

I return to my book until she comes out with the drink.

Speedbird: "Oh, that was quick, thank you."

Return to book.

Food comes out, but served by a different girl.

When done eating YHB9 comes over immediately.

YHB9: "All done?"
Speedbird: "Yeah, was great. Perfect timing."
YHB9: "Soooo, would you like dessert?"
Speedbird: "Hmmm [rubs chin]"
YHB9: "I can show you the menu if you'd like"
Speedbird: "Oh go on then. ... So what do you recommend?"
YHB9: "Well I'd recommend the banana split, but it's a bit heavy"
Speedbird: "Unless you share it with me"
YHB9: [laughs] "I could if I would, but I can't"

We chat a bit more and I order a sundae. She asks if I want a cherry on top and I say she can have that part. Gets another laugh. When she brings it out I give her "one last chance" to share it with me, she laughs again.

When I'm done eating that I return to my book again and she comes over again.

YHB9: "Everything okay here?"
Speedbird: "Yeah, okay considering you force-fed me."

Gets another laugh. When she brings the check out I say that she has to put her number down on it so we can discuss sharing dessert some time. She says she'll let me take care of that part first, so I put my number on the bill after she brings out the credit card receipt, along with a note saying "Call to sort out sharing dessert." When she comes walking past again I give her my copy of the receipt and insist on her putting her number on it, and (to my surprise) she does. When she's doing that I chit-chat with her about how busy it should be but isn't. I guess her name (it's written in hidden ink on the check wallet), introduce myself, shake hands, say goodbye.

Analysis: I didn't get any DHVs in other than being seen to read a book and look thoughtful, and of course being well presented. Some AFC chit-chat in there, could have used the time better. The handshake was very AFC, might have pushed for a hug. Still, I was pleased with the # close considering I'm at least ten years her senior. Hell she's probably about 19 or 20 (I'm 32 with thinning hair).

I went over to the mall afterwards, walked around Union Square. Didn't open anything. I hadn't set off to go hunting so I wasn't 100% tuned in. But the # close gave me a great little buzz. No wonder people get addicted to this shit.

It's easy to become a social robot as Style describes. The key is working on yourself because you want to change something in your life. Sarging is fun and it's addictive especially when you start to see results. I only have certain days of the week that I go out and sarge. The other days, I am working out, reading a book, doing something I enjoy, or talking to family. Honestly, I am secretly waiting for the weekend to come around so I can go out.

Texted her yesterday (didn't consider it worthy of a call) and still no reply. I think I'll abandon this one since I don't think there was enough of a connection to justify Mystery's 2-call standard in this case. I can always go back to the restaurant sometime this week and neg her about not getting back to me. Anyone think I should?
