Wow, ok. so its just before midday on a beauti-fuckin-ful saturday and i am still god damn tired! why am i inside writin up a field report instead of goin out to the beach or some other mindless activity? because i can Last night started out with me and Gruel and a few other AFC mates gettin tickets to go to Valentine.pretty much an all night dance party which started in Taka and then progressed to town! costed $17, so it was reaso. Anyways,we decided to just go straight to the city, to Met/Code where the 'party' was meant to head after Taka. After entering and bein there for only just a few seconds, I egged Gruel to open to this lovely as 2-set sittin by the bar, not to my surprise he strollled up casually and opened. i was extremely happy! this was pretty much the first time id seen someone open in real life. we went over to the bar where we just stood around talkin and drinkin and all that, Gruel had his cards with him,so used this to his advantage with the barmaid and got us a few free drinks from time to time. twas quite awesome! a while after that,i spotted a different 2-set with an amazing HB8-or-so blonde. Gruel spotted me noticing and said something along the lines of 'im one up bro, u better equalise'. Shit, this was my first opening...i was shit as nervous. I decided that tonight i would open with the Drug dealer. I think it worked especially well for me with my extremely short hair (#3 haircut), aviator sunglasses and a flashing neon pendant with a martini glass on it. i remembered the 3 second rule, approached from the side and did all that correctly. i think my only mistake was that i approached my target instead of the obstacle...still worked though. heres pretty much wat happened... Me: hey there, can i ask your quick opinion about somethin,i gotta get bak to my mates. HB8: yeah definately! whats up? Me: *scandalised voice* do i look like a drug dealer to you? HB8: *looks me up and down* *sly smile* no! u look fantastic. Me: phew! its just this guy came up to me and asked if i had a few tabs of e or somthing! HB8: haha,na thats silly! u look great. Me: *in shock that this is actually working* wicked, i should head back to my friends. HB8: come find me later sometime! Me: if your lucky *wink* I was in total freakin disbelief! i had just opened my first set, albeit to the target. but still! i so cant believe that worked! i was awestruck. from that moment me and Gruel traded openeing sets, going one-for-one. It was amazing! i used the Drug Dealer about 5 times and didnt get shot down once! after a while of openening sets i thought i would try number close that tasty blonde i was chating up before, so asked if Gruel would wing me with her not-so-attractive friend. he agreed, i think it was only because he knew that if he needed me to wing i wouldve. we decided to do the Lies opener as like a debate kiinda thing so he could neutralise the obstacle by keepin her busy arguin.i spotted the blonde and her mate dancing up on the stairs away from the dance floor. awkward. nevertheless i walked up, trying as hard as i could to look confident and nonchalant...i think it worked cus as soon as she saw me she ran up and gave me a massive hug...heres what happend,not word for word obviously,but as close to it Me: So listen, we were wondering. who lies more, guys or girls? HB8: Girls!! but not me. Me: yeah ur sooooooo different *sarcastic tone* HB8: *play slap on shoulder* I am! Me: i doubt it! ur probably all like, 'its your baby!' HB8: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. whats your name? Me: *OMG SHE ASKED FOR MY NAME!!! THIS ACTUALLY WORKS* Mustang, and yours? HB8: Emma Me: well its a pleasure to meet you! HB8: how old are you? Me: ladies first... HB8: 22. im so old!you? Me: yeah ur over the hill! guess? HB8: i dunno! tell me. Me: Ill giv you a hint,its got a 1 in it *all the while thinking,holy crap,shes 22...thats 4 years older than me,and here she is all over me* HB8: 21? Me:lower. HB8: 19?18? Me:18. HB8: No way! i totally thought u were 21! Me: oh is that a problem? *goes to walk away* HB8: *grabs arm* nooooooo,dont go! *pulls me in putting my hand on her ass* Me: *deciding it was time to just go for it and just ask for her number* listen, giv me your number and ill drop you a txt later. HB8: ok! i was so amazed. i was like holy crap. i mean i know i asked for it and stuff and ill work on my little bad points. but for a first number close i was just like woah. hopefully ill learn a heap and stuff like that. as we were walking away,i signalled to Gruel that it was time for him to jump out of the hippo cage *HB8's friend* and go back to the bar *i think he was greatful bout that:P*. as we were about to walk away i pulled out Sin's Kiss goodbye. she bounded up and planted a massive kiss on my cheek. i was ecstatic! some time passed and for those of you who know met/code, i was comin up from downstairs when i ran into a set Gruel had opened up. one of the girls who i had never met recognised me and gave me a massive hug and was like 'HI! wats ur name' woah? straight up. this is like fishing with dynomite. by playin it cool,i had people asking for my name not the other way around. after givin my name she gave me a kiss on my cheek and said 'thats how i say hi', i said 'oh yeah? and if we were in europe?', she said 'like this *kiss**kiss*',i said 'wicked, i gotta go,but have a great night' i didnt know what else to say! well thats all i can remember,i know its been a massive massive post.and its probably not that interesting.but i felt the need to post it! iv missed out bits,just cus iv forgotten.i might come bak and edit it if i remeber anything important. but i think the jist is there. any critique or anything would be madly appreciated. also a few questions on my part,anyone feel free to answer please! 1) is there anything wrong with approaching straight to ur target? 2) what is the best way to isolate? or can u just do what i did and take along a wing? 3) i got lucky with my #close,i know that. how can i go from opener to demonstrate value,to number close? 4) one of the sets i opened actually agreed that i lookd like a drug dealer. how to go from here?neg maybe? 5) how do i make the girl wanna give me her number, so i dont have to ask for it? *im sure there are posts around that explain that,so just a link to them will suffice* anyways, hope everyone has a fantastic day! i might drop my HB8 a txt later, probably not:P just knowing i got her number is good enough for me! p.s im from Auckland, NZ, so thats why u wont know where the place names are:P any help would b fantastic! peace out, Mustang |

Good field report. For a first attempt that sounds great. I'm not an expert but I can offer my opinion: Quote:

I would say no but in a 2-set it's better to say an opener and include both people because it doesn't isolate her friend (avoids cockblock) and it comes in under the radar a bit more.

What you did worked but sometimes you don't see the girl again that night. A better way after building comfort & attraction would be to say take her somewhere private (like a seating area) t show her something say, a card trick.

A neg would be good reply - I'm sure the girl was joking so act non-chalant and go with a funny reply.

It's difficult; asking is the easiest way as long as you've built attraction. when you go to ask for her number give a reason (this helps) e.g. "maybe we could meet-up sometime...#close" "I'm going to see my friends, can I have your number" etc. To make her give her number: if she's attracted and you say you're leaving she may give her # but this can risky.Hope that helps and makes sense - once again I'm no expert. |
