This is something I tried earlier with good results so I thought I'd share it. Sometimes I wear this big gaudy 50 cent replica medalion that I won at a Dave and Busters. There is no way you can miss it, and its completely ridiculous looking. When I enter a bar I immediatly walk slowly through the most crowded area and just about everybody notices who is in my immediate vecinity. When an HB looks down at it I smile and say "I know, I lost a bet with my friend earlier (point to group, social value)" This is nothing new I know, however, what I did find interesting is that for some reason it worked really well in opening up mixed groups. The guys in each group thought it was hilarious and immediatly accepted me. It's also is hard not to be the center of attention. |

Nice peacocking item! Sounds like you are comfortable wearing it and know how to play out the conversations around it. Cool stuff, I'll have to go to Dave & Busters more often. |
