Post subject:  Day Game at the Grocery Store Checkout

Alright, I had perfect conditions for day game and blew it. It was 7 pm, deserted grocery store. She was working the express lane, and I came through with fresh produce, fresh meat, and a big pack of condoms. He can cook, he has a lot of sex. DHV? Maybe, or maybe she didn't even notice what she was running through and bagging. Anyway, there was no one in line before or after me, so I had plenty of time.

Cashier: How are you today?
Carlos: GREAT, actually.
Cashier: Haha, that's good.
Carlos: Yourself?
Cashier: I'm doing good
Carlos: Better the closer closing time gets huh?
Cashier: Yeah. I always find during the last few hours of my shift that I'm extra goofy
(I don't remember the next exchange, but it was on the subject of jokes...)
Carlos: Tell me a joke
Cashier: Okay, do you have anything against dumb blonde jokes.
Carlos: EVERYTHING.
Cashier: Alright... well in that case I guess I won't tell you it.
Carlos: Go ahead, I'm listening. I'll humour you.
Cashier: Alright... (ventriloquist blonde joke)
Carlos: (smiling) you deliver that well.
Cashier: really? I know the swearing turns off some people, but, it's part of the joke.
Carlos: You need it for emphasis.
Cashier: Yeah. Okay, here's another joke. (lion pun joke)
Carlos: (Laugh) ooh... you should die for that.
Cashier: (Laugh) I know, it's bad.
Carlos: Well, thanks for entertaining me... (looking for her nametag under her hair... she didn't get the hint)
Cashier: You're welcome. You'll have to come back so I can tell you more jokes.

Writing this out makes it sound like she was more into me than she actually was, but she was definitely polite and enjoying my company. At the end of the exchange, I felt that I hadn't done anything to demonstrate higher value... it had all been just listening to her. What should I have done differently? Asking for her name on the pretenses of facebooking her wouldn't have been too forward... Thoughts please. Back it up too!

Or maybe she was more into you then you thought...

Sometimes you don't have to do alot of DHVing if the girl already see's you as her same basic value range.

It's really tough to close in such a short timeframe, and with the barriers that are presented in that situation (almost impossible to Kino)... I'd probably do like you did and go for a close on a second trip... however I'd have probably Negged her about her name tag... something to the effect of "You know with your hair like that, how on earth will the poor customers know your name?", then she gives it to you and tell her nice to meet you as you walk off without telling her your name... She'd probably expect some sort of "I'm having a party bla blah blah" line after the name comment, purposely not closing or telling your name makes you the cool mysterious guy, and could leave you the chance for a much higher % close opportunity in the future.

true. although running into people at work? I NEVER seem able to. I guess the answer to that would be that in this case it's just not possible... I guess I'll do some more shopping there if the occasion arises.
