Not much to brag about, but it was nice to give it a go. My housemates and I were at a pub last night just getting something to eat. While sitting on the patio, one of the guys commented on an 8 sitting in a set of two about 4 or 5 tables from us out on the patio. I told him to go approach them and he chuckled it off and said no. So I said "hang on, I'll go get it for you" and got up and went over. I asked the girls "mind if I interrupt?" as I pulled an empty chair out and sat down. (I think that's what I said, I was pretty nervous and don't remember it all 100%). I told them that my buddy over there (pointing to my housemate) was going on a blind date this weekend and needed some advice, like where to go, what to ware, how to act, ect. Looking back on it I think I was talking way too fast due to the nerves. After getting several responses from them, I asked how they knew each other. They said that their boyfriends were friends and they had just met about 6 months ago. I did a couple more fluff lines, and then I said I needed to get back to my friends and thanked them and left. I didn't go any further than that because: 1) The 8 turned out to be like a 6 or 6.5 up close. And 2) boyfriends. So not really a success story, but I guess it serves as good practice. |

Whats the difference between this and going up to a group people and saying "Hi can you give me directions?" Hardly call this senario your first approach. 1) No attempt at creating attraction 2) No target 3) No rejection or #close |

Fair enough. I guess I should have labels it as an exercise in overcoming fears, or whatever you'd call it. Just going up to them was out of my comfort zone, big time. But I get what you're saying. |

Sorry I wasn't trying to put you down there its not my intention at all. I've got massive AA because i know the rules of the game. Today, for the first time in my life I went clubbin' alone believe or not. I was nervous as hell and almost chickened out at the last minute, but I had something to prove to myself tonight so I said "F" it. It was no where near how bad I thought it was going to be and I actually met some people. I'm still a newbie and shy as fuck. Tonight was a giant step in the right direction for me. Next time I will go further and approach more sets if i approach less than tonight i'm not improving. Open the same way, but take it a step further next time so you are improving yourself. Peace bro. |
