hey im new to the game and i wanna know the difference between ego and self confidence(inner game). when a HB gives out shit tests i know we're not meant to take it at face value but are we meant to answer the question with inner game or ego? and how do you know the difference between ego and pure inner game? at most times i feel confident at approaching and talking to a girl but i've been told i have a big head sometimes even when im not trying to act/become one. can anyone tell me the difference between ego and pure inner game please?! |

Hi Dilaks, welcome. The shit test question is easier to answer so I will start with that. When a woman gives you a test, naturally, you want to keep your cool and IOD or throw a neg. What you shouldn't do is act arrogant, upset, defensive, or in any way affected by the comment. at most times i feel confident at approaching and talking to a girl but i've been told i have a big head sometimes even when im not trying to act/become one. can anyone tell me the difference between ego and pure inner game please?! For instance, if you are talking to a woman and she says "So, are you, like, out to pick up chicks tonight or something?" and you think with your ego you might say something dumb like "Yeah...but that doesn't mean I am interested in you," making you look like an arrogant jerk or "No, I dont want to make you feel uncomfortable or anything," which is wussy and insecure. You might instead respond casually by saying "Wasn't my intention but now that you mention it there are some really good looking girls in here (while scanning the room), so what? are you trying to pick up guys tonight or something?" As far as ego vs. "inner game," goes. The AFC will respond very emotionally because he is scared to be talking to a woman and his feelings are easily hurt so he will either ask for her approval or shield himself in arrogance. The PUA plays it cool and doesn't betray his emotions. Ego = emotional. Does anyone else have anything to add to the above? |

difference between ego and self-confidence = 0 I don't think there is a difference, although ego can be linked to getting pissed off about something, where as that's not strictly to do with self-confidence. |

It's the difference between thinking your good, and knowing your good.. Ego can be taken away.. Self confidence.. if it is a actually there.. you wont lose it ... Agreed. Ego is a cheap, fake demonstration of self-confidence that childishly begs for attention. Ego is seen by others. People's focus on people with an ego is HOW that person is acting. People with egos are easily forgotten because of this. There is no depth to them. They are shallow. They are only what they portray on the surface. Self-confidence on the other hand does not beg for attention (but it gets it anyways). The focus is on the person as a human being and the ideas that they convey. People's focus is on the WHO. That is, they will want to find out what is at the core of the self-confident person. Self-confidence is felt, not seen, by others. Self-confident people have depth and it is because of that which is not easily seen or understood that draws people closer. |

then whats an easy way to spot either your own personal ego or that of others?

Quote: then whats an easy way to spot either your own personal ego or that of others? Exhibit A: Steve Stifler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UISKJwuo ... re=related The self-confident man is focused on making other people feel good (because the guy already feels good about himself). This is why shit tests don't get to him. Self-confidence is usually playful/spontaneous/unique/genuine/relaxed Exhibit B: George Clooney http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKuDCRKz ... re=related |
