PUA Forum :: Getting braces, waiting 3 years to be confident?

Hey. This is my first post and hopefully I put it in the right section.

I'm pretty attractive guy, with one major insecurity. My teeth are, to put it bluntly, fucked up. People make comments about them not realizing how insecure I am about them. I hate to smile around girls, I hate to show my teeth. I know that if I got braces they would be perfect, and I feel like I would gain so much game just by being able to smile all the time. My face looks good when I smile, I am a funny guy and when I'm with family & friends I smile and laugh all the time.

I'm faced with two options:

1. Get braces... put my game on hold for 3 years.
2. Stop giving a fuck and smile.

I'm 21, I've got a baby face already. I get carded at rated R movies. If I get braces that is going to make it 100 times worse, and what girl wants to bone a 15 year old (other than 15 year-olds)?

I think that with my mouth closed I'm a 9, and that drops to about a 6 as soon as I smile.

I choose braces. Why? Because it is mid term thinking. Long term thinking would be: be happy with yourself and marry a girl with a good personality. Short term: I want them chicks now! I don't know if braces are worse than bad teeth, if you feel insecure about your teeth now allready.

Well, you're not smiling anyway, right? IMO, getting braces shows you actually care to improve yourself. Get the braces, if anyone disagrees they're wrong!

try to see if you can get those clear ones they are barely noticable. I dont have the best of teeth but I cant afford braces or anything realy to improve them I have just learned to deal with them, however nobody has ever said anything about them besides my parents so I assume they arent that notciable unless people are being nice haha

Get the clear or silver ones. Honestly, braces shouldn't affect your lifestyle (besides eating). You're thinking too much . In the end, you'll have better looking teeth and a better smile. Think of it as something worth investing in.

They won't either True, but the chance this would happen is slim to none, plus guys prob consider this a fetish (with oral sex), whereas girls probably consider it something else, prob depends on the girl.

First time poster here too. I got ceramic braces a few months ago and I highly recommend them, they're clear braces. They're definitely less noticeable than standard metal braces. They cost a little more, but they're worth it. If you'd like to see what they look like, google Tom Cruise ceramic braces. Also, they do stain easily, so you do have to watch what you eat. Bro, i have hated my teeth all of my life, and they arent that bad. But i always wanted perfect teeth, and my folks couldnt get them on the NHS when i was younger. I finally, now in my late 20's got some. I got invisalign ones and you cant even see them. They are like invisible gum shields. Having them in my mouth makes me so fucking happy, and even if i had metal braces i would be as happy. What would you rather look at, a girl with fucked up teeth or a girl with braces. Personally, id prefer the one with braces and you should be thinking long term. Do it for yourself, fuck what anyone else thinks. And check out invisalign, mine cost me 2K but u can pay in installments. I've gone form unemployed to a rich mofucker in the last 18 months, thanks to working my ass off in my business. So im now doin everything i dreamed of, first thing, perfect teeth!

Definitely get the braces. I had seriously fucked up teeth (we're talking teeth behind other teeth and coming in at all angles and twisted round). I wore braces for many years. I hated wearing them, and they did destroy a lot of confidence and make me very self-conscious, but afterwards I was so glad. Just think: afterwards you have the entire rest of your life with good teeth; it's worth the trade-off of wearing braces for a small fraction of your life. The alternative is having bad teeth for the rest of your life, I think you'll regret it. And the sooner you do it, the sooner you can have the braces off. And don't let the braces worry you that much, people care about them less than you think. They notice for approximately 5 seconds when they first meet you, before it ceases to matter, and 99% of people are too polite to mention them. Just tell yourself how you are making your teeth better, and tell other people that if they do say anything. People like a positive outlook, don't let on that it's a sore point for you even if it is.

Mate, I currently have braces, have had them for about 8 months now. Ask your orthodontist to order in "inspire ICE" brackets and use a teflon coated wire. That's what I have and no body notices I have braces, even people who worked next to me for months didn't know. I have pulled the best looking girls of my life while i've had them, a HB9 and most recently I'd have to say pretty close to HB10. If your a pretty attractive guy anyway and you have your game sorted you'll be fine.

This thread helped me cus I am exatcly like you, Im 100% that I would have so many girls by now if I had nice teeth cus I really have a nice face and an athletic body a bit slender, kinda like adam levine but im really happy with my looks everything except my damn teeth. If I had nice teeth I would have so much confidence its unbelievable, Im a pretty confident guy as it is but with nice teeth I would be a beast. Im 16 and Im gonna go grow some balls and do something about it thx for the thread man it helped.
