| Post subject: | Thinking is Power is Winning and Losing |
I just finished the chapter in The Game where Style is being poked by needles from Courtney Love. She says that failure is the loss of power. I couldn't say it any better. It's true. Winning and losing is all about having or lacking power. But what is power? It's how you view accomplishments towards whatever you're undertaking. In other words, it's all in the mind. Why is that? Well first of all, it's because the old saying of having positive or negative mindset is very true, in all aspects of our lives. If we think negatively, this is what happens: we relinquish our power; having no control over our reality. When we fail, we lose power. When we succeed, we begin to doubt that it even happened for real and think it was a fluke. However, If we start thinking positively, we begin to see a very different reality of the same situation! When we "fail", we don't actually relinquish our power. Instead, we make it a learning experience to make ourselves better in the futur, thus keeping your power to yourself. When you succeed, you still need to not get full of yourself and learn something from it anyway. The moral of this post is: There is no fail. Thinking only makes it so. |

Hey man, Just wanted to say great post but its very vague. I mean the concepts are awesome Quote: I just finished the chapter in The Game where Style is being poked by needles from Courtney Love. She says that failure is the loss of power. I couldn't say it any better.
Failure as it is defined is: an event that does not accomplish its intended purposehttp://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=def ... arch&meta= For a loss of power, ya its true what Courtney says- however you have to look at it from a P.O.V, that your giving that power away by choice going with this analogy. Your EXPECTING something to happen. So when something doesn't work out you already dug your grave. It's the mentality "it NEEDS to work or I'm fucked", which is needy. "True" power if you even want to call it that or courage is just being able to forget about this all together and just know your enough. Quote: It's true. Winning and losing is all about having or lacking power. But what is power? It's how you view accomplishments towards whatever you're undertaking.
Here is where I would disagree, again what you say is true- it really comes down to the "frame" your taking at this point though. The point of disagreement is this doesn't only apply in the present and future, it also counts YOUR past. All three are interchangeable and build on each other. Quote: In other words, it's all in the mind. Why is that? Well first of all, it's because the old saying of having positive or negative mindset is very true, in all aspects of our lives.
*NodsQuote: If we think negatively, this is what happens: we relinquish our power; having no control over our reality. When we fail, we lose power. When we succeed, we begin to doubt that it even happened for real and think it was a fluke.
Again...my view purely- not quite though. If we think negatively we presuppose everything we will work a certain way. This presumption shows in our actions. In-turn the actions show our true state of mind. We don't lose power from failure, we fail from loss of power (in ourselves/mind). Or basically...have no faith in ourselves & gave up @ the start.Quote: However,
True enough again If we start thinking positively, we begin to see a very different reality of the same situation! When we "fail", we don't actually relinquish our power. Instead, we make it a learning experience to make ourselves better in the future, thus keeping your power to yourself. When you succeed, you still need to not get full of yourself and learn something from it anyway. The moral of this post is: There is no fail. Thinking only makes it so. I know I've jumped around abit, the undertone however is this: In the negative mind frame= results orientated, positive= grounded & centered (if something happens cool, if not whatever PS: I'm working on my posting style....so if anyone wants something more clear PLEASE say so. I know I ramble. |
