This is an interesting question I have pondered. Why does good looks = confidence, and bad looks = no confidence. Sorry, but it's not obvious to me. |

It's a matter of taking care of yourself versus not taking such good care of yourself. I'll give you an analogy... When you enter a brand new crisp car you like the smell of it and the way it makes you feel right? Compare that to a beater. Which one would you drive around town and want everyone to see you in? That's the same thing with looks. Looks do matter. It's a matter of feeling good and letting the people around you feel good. We like people that feel good about themselves because that makes us feel good about ourselves. Feeling good about yourself translates into good looks. You take care of yourself more when you feel good about yourself. |

i dont understand what this guy is saying.I'll give you an analogy... When you enter a brand new crisp car you like the smell of it and the way it makes you feel right? Compare that to a beater. You take care of yourself more when you feel good about yourself. but confidence, to me, is having what it takes to get something done. there's also a difference between false confidence and real confidence its like studying all week end for an exam then walking into school that monday confidently. the confidence is real and comes from your studying compared to not studying all weekend them walking in confidently monday. false confidence being good looking is something woman like, having money is something women like, etc.. so when you have these things / qualities, you.ll have confidence. i sat in a library once and saw this good looking girl working, i admired her from a distance. then i say a homeless looking guy in tatterd n dirty clothing walk up to her and tried to pick her up |

Of course to increase confidence appearance matters, but confidence isn't walking into a room full of people thinking you look better than anyone here and your shit don't stink. Confidence is walking into that room not needing to compare yourself to anyone in it. |

bull shit. the more you have calling for you, is the more confident you should feelThere's always somebody better looking than you, somebody richer, ecc, ecc. Confidence is about "It doesn't matter if X is better than me at Y, I'm great nonetheless". By your twisted logic the moment there's somebody who's better looking than you, you've lost. Bullshit. |

Good looks does not automatically mean more confidence. It can help though. |

Well I know that i'd be 10x more confident around girls if I had the face of a male model! I know from my good looking friends how different things are when you are very handsome and girls actually approach you. I know people who have brilliant jobs and are successful and they would be thought of as 'confident people' in general, but put them in a room full of hot cheerleaders and they wouldn't dare approach or think they'd have a shot. Similarly, I know people who have never had a job r any kind of success (apart from with girls) but who are blessed with model looks, and they would approach them same girls and fancy their chances, too! |

That's not true confidence buddy that's called comparison and trying to one up people. What I stated in my comment is the definition of true confidence. When you feel good about yourself you naturally want to display the best of yourself and that naturally attracts people and good situations to you. Stop trying to argue from your insecurities and need to compare yourself to others. That just shows that you lack these qualities. |
