Post subject:  Understand men first (David D)
Hello :)

Lately I have been listening to David DeAngelo`s program "On Being A Man". In it he mentions to be good with women you should first work on understanding men, then try to understand women and then start the pick up theory ( or something like that).

The problem is I don`t know 100% what I should do or read to understand men better. I have bought the book “Why men are the way they are” and “The way of men” just to get started.

Does anyone have some good tips on where to go from here? What I can do or read to better understand what it`s like to be a man?

I don't know anything about the programme "on being a man", nor really any useful literature to understand what a man is.

I'm not sure you need to bother. Who cares what makes some other bloke tick?

What I would advise you figure out first is understanding yourself better. What is it you want from "pick up"? Why are you currently not getting what you want? What motivates you? What are your sexual needs? What sort of woman do you want? How do you want to be able to get those women? What sort of a person do you want to be? What sort of a person are you now? What is stopping you from being that person you want to be?

Sure, read those books you've got and see if there's anything useful in there. But I don't think you need to read loads and loads on that sort of a topic. Bottom line is - you understand yourself, you can improve yourself. You learn what attracts women, you know how to improve yourself. You can then learn "pick up techniques" to help you improve yourself, although if you get the first two down you'll probably not need a huge amount of the techniques and "lines" etc.
