I am always focusing on myself too much, both mentally and physically which is causing anxiety - and I have mentioned in a different thread about anxiety too, but this one focuses on self-consciousness alone. The views are always negative, regardless. If I notice how I am sitting or standing, then I think that I look weird. The same with my thoughts. How can I overcome being so focused on myself, all the time? |

Your indulging in the emotion too much... now common advice to this would to be present in the moment or let go and not give a fuck..etc etc. Now letting go or being present in the moment whatever you want to call it isn't something you can attain. You can't get it and wave it around to everyone saying here it is. When in the emotional blur of a state, your thinking ( no matter how ludicrous) seems true...you believe what you think..When in reality what you are thinking not in anyway is matching up with reality. In essence your day dreaming and you can't fight your way out of it, all this does is make it worse. SO WTF DO YOU DO? You stop doing and wake up, some strategies suggest focusing on your breathing or heart beat. Personally the most effective one is write down all your thoughts....If your in a social environment get your phone out and go on notes and write down everything your thinking about. ^^You may do this, most probably you won't until your truly had enough of the emotional blur state. |

I have this problem too bro. What i figured out so far however is, whenever i am home (alone or with family) your less self conscious and more relaxed. Once you step out the house, you guard yourself up. So find something in your mind that makes you feel at home, a memory or a routine you usually do by yourself in your room and use it in public ( hopefully its not anything out of line or bizarre lol) but you get the drift. Your mind will shift to that relaxation state again, then you will try to do your best to maintain it. This is what I got out if it so far, if i come across any other tips ill let you know. |
