I just get a lot of angry, defensive looks whenever I go outside to do anything. From strangers to people I see everyday at work. I get ignored a lot, people would rather talk about me when I'm in the same room than talk to me. A lot of condescending, passive-aggressive body language. I used to think it was my personality, but it can't be what I'm saying if I never say a word. This is a non-sexual problem that I've had with both men and women. But I'm single now and not getting any younger, so I'd like to correct this problem if I want to meet anybody. Also, I don't want this "barrier" to get in the way of any future job interviews. Any idea how I can figure out what's bugging everybody? |

its called a self-fulfilling prophecy and your likely chronically depressed and unhappy. Make an effort to pretend to be happy, smiley, and full of ebullient energy and watch how this changes. |

I'm naturally a happy, friendly and helpful person, but people just add another frown on top of the frown they originally gave me. Women put up their "you're a creep/thief" defenses. Hell, men put up the "thief" defenses. My job demands me to be energetic. It's not like I lie in bed all day feeling sorry for myself. I guess I can ultimately say "who cares" and avoid everyone, but I'm basically alone now, because for the past several years I've lived with the problem I'm describing. Staying locked in my house after work isn't any way to live. PS. For what it's worth, if anything gets in the way of me appearing happy as hell, it's my gapped teeth. I smile, but I'm reluctant to show an ear-to-ear grin. I finally got around to ordering braces. |
