| Post subject: | Motivation to take action fades the next day. |
Day 1: I start a new project. I feel motivated to do it and take heavy action. Everything feels natural and has flow. Day 2: I wake up with the thought of continuing the project, but the motivation and the spark is gone. My mind doesn't comply. I try to do the project, but I get stressful and start feeling bad. I've tried plowing through the negative feeling that drags me down, but it's like the more I go with my plans, the worse I feel. I have a theory that every next day I have to re-calibrate myself (personality changes during the day) through the things I actually want to do. (I don't want to do the projects I started yesterday today, but I do want to complete them as soon as possible.) Any tips on keeping the motivation to do one thing all the way to the end of it? Note that some things I have to do in the mornings (e.g. running, waking up on time) and I don't have time to calibrate myself. I feel like there should be a way to make the feeling of wanting to do something persist way longer. |

Things like this will always happen. We are humans and emotions fluctuate regardless of who you are. My best advice is to smash through these barriers of low motivation and just succeed. If you get out there, and succeed regardless of wanting to do it initially (or fail for that matter) it will better you in some facet. When you start seeing improvements in your game/mindset after these interactions, that period of motivational swing will become nullified after a time. Just do it buddy. How will you ever get better? |

Motivation + Knowledge will never overcome your limiting belief that is stopping you. I suggest figuring out your limiting beliefs... and getting rid of them. Try out the book Mind Made Prison (<<<<<<LINKED)... I enjoy it and it can help immensely, a large portion of this information will be in my Core Self-Confidence program.... If you are really struggling with limiting beliefs another large influence to this program will be this: Recreate Your Life (<<<<<<LINKED) If you just want straight up help getting rid of your limiting beliefs... I'm about to start my inner game Consultation program. Peace and Love, Vic |

Before starting your work, go into meditation (just quiet your mind in 2 minutes of less) and then imagine having completed your project, feeling good as fuck for getting it done and succeeding with it, feeling like a champion, feeling proud and high spirited. See and feel this for about 5 minutes (thats all it really takes) and then ask your self what action you have to take to achieve this goal. You'll naturally take action. |

Thanks for the replies, seems I figured it out on myself tonight. I just have to do this: http://deepexistence.com/take-the-one-p ... challenge/ You could say I have to do a little bit of anything I want to start. (e.g. just THINK of going up to that HB right there and then possibly and a little bit more and so on.) It helps the brain create habitual pathways without demotivating it too early. Take bits not the whole bunch. |

It is as simple as doing you man. I am currently in the middle of reading the "Sedona Method," a literary adaptation to the company's teachings and audio recordings. Long story short, it engrains the process of welcome the current thoughts and emotional states you are feeling, realizing they do not define you and releasing them. I have never found it so easy to live right here, right now. This pickup stuff is weirder and weirder the more you drift back to reality.

The reason why you feel un motivated the next day is because you now know the amount of effort you'll have to do ... for example if you have a long lists like: 1) Exercise. 2) Groceries 3) Clean. 4) Laundry 5) Read 6) Do something ambitious ... Most people focus their AWARENESS on the whole lists of effort you have to do and they get overwhelmed leading to procrastination. This is called Homeostasis where the brain tries to reserve energy so it gives you the emotions of laziness or procrastination. Analogy: Like an inexperience rock climber looking at a giant mountain and seeing how ridiculous high it is ... he/she will feel overwhelm of the amount of work he/she will have to do. But, for a more experience rock climber ... he/she will focus on the first step ... that first rock he/she will have to hang on to. Then once he/she has succeeded on getting to that first rock ... he/she focus on the next rock. This is what we call FLOW. When you are present in the moment and your whole AWARENESS is on what is the next step not the whole lists of steps you have to take. You will get this sense of Presence and actual enjoy the tasks! Therefore, just focus on the first thing you have to do. For example, going back to our lists, the first thing is Exercise. Then break that up into small steps like, Exercise 1) Put on gym shoes. 2) Get in car. 3) Drive to gym. (Well since I am already here at the gym ... mine as well start exercising). 4) Do first exercise .... 5) Focus on the form of your exercise instead of finishing all the reps. The next thing you know you just finished your first goal on your to do lists. Summary: Focus your AWARENESS on that first step not the whole lists. This will shift your focus from the outcome of getting shit done to focus on steps 1, 2, 3 , 4 to getting shit done. This can be applied to pick up ... explained by Tyler Durden from RSD: Tyler's Top Secret to Making Pick up Super Simple (Has INFIELD of how to do this ....) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WloORPfKnD4 Other books to read to beat procrastination: 1) The War of Art: Steven Pressifield 2) Flow the Psychology of Optimal Experience - Mihaly Csikszentmilhalyi |

Show up no matter what.... no matter how you feel! We all have it.... set up a time and dedicate yourself to it. You might go through hell trying to start but you'll thank yourself for finishing. It's best to go at whatever your doing for a full hour and then take a break.... wash rinse and repeat. Shut out all distractions too... shut off your phone and tell your family u need private time. |
