Post subject:  Living in a world of false negatives.

Over the past couple days I've had a bit more success talking to women than I usually do. I didn't get laid or make out with any beautiful women, but hey, improvement is improvement. However, I also noticed something that my mind does that hold me back from having more success with women. What I mean by this is that I tend to put a higher value on negative hints and signs than I do on positive ones.

This creates a significant problem. Even though I am receiving more positive messages from any given candidate, I tend to focus on the few negative ones, and this puts me in a bad state of mind. For example, there is a girl I'm talking to now over text. Even though all of her messages have been positive, filled with smileys and excited punctuation, I still manage to convince myself that things are going badly. I might interpret how long she takes to reply, or simply doesn't reply as something far worse than it actually is.

Another thing I've noticed is that because of this, I find it hard to imagine that a girl could possibly be more attracted to me than I am to her. it sounds insane, but the idea of a girl having a high interest just seems alien to me.

Logically, I know that I'm a decent looking guy, that girls must be interested, and that there is no reason to be having these negative thoughts. I know that the positive signs should be just as important as the negative ones, but for some reason, my subconscious likes to take these nearly insignificant things and blow them out of proportion.

I'm sure this is a kind of long post, but my point is this. Don't let yourself invalidate the positive signs that are there and don't take the bad ones too seriously. I'm still working on having a positive mindset and i think that starting to understand the problem can help in resolving it.
