Hey guys, I need some advice on how you overcome body issues. I work out but I havent reached my fitness goals as yet, still have insecurities about having my shirt off. A few hours ago, I set up a first date with an HB8 (hot yoga instructor). Now I wanted to do the coffee/people watch thing but she decided that she wanted to take her jet-skis out instead. Kinda threw me for a loop - so I pushed a lil for the city coffee deal but she said - and I quote - "OR you can grow some and come out on the water with me". She had an obvious joke tone but that completely threw me off! So I seeing her on Sunday (3 days from now) for a jet ski showdown. Im not usually insecure but - its a hot yoga instructor, mint body and its the first time im seeing her.. any advice to get into the right frame of mind. What are some of the ways you got over your body insecurities? All advice is appreciated! |

Body image things can be really tricky. The things to keep in mind are that others don't always see you the way you see yourself. They aren't as picky sometimes about things you think are a big deal. Also I'm sure you know there are people of all body types who have confidence and have done well socially. I think it's one of those things where you can't just make yourself love your body, but you can keep in mind the things mentioned above and just have the courage to do the best you can with what you have while you work to improve it over time. |

Okay... I'd pay just to have a day like that, riding jet skis, the hot weather, the sun... And you're telling me your going to do all this with a girl? oh wait.... A hot yoga instructor, who's obviously going to be in a sexy bikini. And YET, You find a way to complain... because of? Some people don't see the luck they have... Oh, and if you're that insecure about your body, just wear a swimsuit, and anyways, you should always wear a life jacket when in a boat... |

Thanks for the moment of clarity guys @Clearspeak - Youre right, my perception of me is def a lot different from what people perceive me to be. im going to remind myself of that and just go out and have fun. @MrMatt - When you put it that way, it sounds pretty damn good - sometimes it just takes a fresh POV to change your frame, thanks! Guess I kinda fell into the " Shes out of your league" zone. (cos really jet-skis? - thats a total first for me) Plus she knows what I look like so im pretty sure shes not gonna expect a chiseled six pack under the shirt lol (...still hitting the gym hard before though - gotta get pumped!) |

Whats funny is that im not mad, i actually find it funny that I wasted so much brain power thinking about this flaky chic when i couldve sooo easy directed that energy into something more productive.
