I'd like to hear about your experience / opinion on Affirmations. Do they work? Are they a waste of time? How has your personal experience been using them to build your inner game? Any success stories with 'em? Anything you found that they were unable to fix? Any advice regarding them? Let me know what you think about Affirmations in general! Thanks.

I use to do confidence affirmations and they definitely had an effect on me.

It's not a case of doing them for a couple of weeks though - they need to be done for months and years. So you need to be disciplined and consistent. Affirmations don't mean that if you do them, you will be cured. It does reprogram your brain to think differently and respond differently (depending on what the affirmation is).

You still need to make practical progress and go beyond just affirmations - othrewise they won't work as well.

Amazing response.

I bought Hypontist Paul Mckenna's book on confidence which came with activities and hypnosis cd. With consistency, it can do wonders but, there is no quick fix. It does really work. Combine the book, hypnosis cd, and activities all together, what could stop a man from tapping into his full potentiality? Even say 10% more? 20% more?

Yeah dude I swear by affirmations and hypnosis. They don't do ALL the work for you but they definitely make it much, much easier to do what you want to do without having a bunch of fears and insecurities stopping you.

They work, but there's an art to them. You gotta put emotion into them, you gotta make the words that play in your mind our come out your mouth loud, rich and vibrant, you gotta make the pictures big and colorful. As played out as Rhonda Berne is I like her shit about gratitude; the mental frame is totally different when you're grateful for something then when you want something. It's like a mental hack, a really, really good one.

"im a fucking closer"

must say it about 5 times a day, i work in sales so closing is a big part of my life but iv said it for ages and i really know, feel and believe that i have an ability to close where others would fail in my pick up also. they defiantly do work and the more you say it the more it works, say it to your self, say it to your freinds, say it to your colleges, there is three important things to remember about affirmations, repetition repetition and repetition!

Perfect.

That's what I always say about affirmations: they reprogram your brain. As long as you are consistent, you will get results.

There are 2 keys:
1 - Repetition: Listen to it over and over, say it over and over, hear it over and over, be it over and over. The more you repeat it, the more it becomes internalized and a part of who you are.

2 - Consciousness: You have to be consciously aware of your thoughts and actions, so you can catch yourself thinking, behaving, or responding negatively, and then consciously say to yourself "wait a second...this is not how I want to think/behave/respond." Then consciously change it.

I have a lot of audios that I listen to, and my favorite place to listen to them is at the gym. Working out at the gym, combined with the audios, creates this perfect storm of motivation that has to be experienced to be understood. You get this amazing surge of energy and you feel like there is nothing in the world that you can't do.

The audios I listen to most often are:
"How to be a No Limit Person" by Wayne Dyer
"Awaken the Giant Within" by Tony Robbins
"On Becoming a Man" by David D'Angelo
"Iron John" by Robert Bly
"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie
"The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader" by John C. Maxwell

Highlighting this part just to say Robert Bly is a fantastic author, if anyone is interested in Jungian psychology I suggest looking up the free audio confrence about the Human Shadow. I think it's on Archive dot org.
