As of right now, I'm still shy and care what people think about me. If I use Pick-Up for the sole purpose of getting a different mindset, for example, not caring what others think about me in mostly all situations, and being myself 100 percent of the time without holding back. Can this be done by starting off with the newbie mission, then getting good with women? If not can you explain to me why, and an alternative approach to getting this mindset? Thanks. |

It definitely can. Read this forum and the building an attractive lifestyle one. They're the main two I used when I first started up. I suppose the major point of most stuff on here, certainly the 'basic' beginner stuff, is to get you out of your shell, feeling comfortable in your own skin and realising that most of the stuff you worry about now just doesn't matter a dime in the grand scheme of things. You have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone though. If you try the newbie mission and continuously bail for example, it's not going to help you. There may be better ways of achieving that mindset if all you're going to do is read stuff. Pick up is primarily an action and experience based 'art' that is supplemented by literature. You can learn tricks and routines and ideas etc. but unless you're willing to go out there, put them in practice, see if they work for you etc. then it doesn't matter how much you read. That's true of picking up girls, it's true of how this forum and pick up in general will try to get you out of your shell. |

It can be done, and it is a path most are on (a few are in it only to score or dominate others). It's fairly simple in some respects. You learn about tools and get experience, which then changes your perspective. You start seeing things in new light because you are doing things you never did before, in a position you were never in before, and you realize that there are a lot more opportunities than what you were once limiting yourself to. Ultimately, you have to put yourself out there. You have to try new stuff and take chances, otherwise things are unlikely to change. There's usually good days, bad days, and days with a whole lot of both, but after a while you see them all as one step forward as long as the effort is being made. |

yes man that is exactly what it is about, pickup is plain and simple self improvement, becomming a more attractive man is as simple as changing your habits and pickup is the first step, the newbie mission is a great place to start, forming new habits and breaking old habits takes a strong amount of discipline, the less energy you have to invest in something new and unknown the more likely you will have the fortitude and discipline to stick with it until it becomes a habit, and then you can build on that habit from there, you are merely a sack of meat with a daily routine, altering this routine will produce a different path in life, but changing yourself is the hard part, old habits die hard, it is one thing to want to go out and meet women, and want to get better at socializing, and want to hit the gym, and want to chase your financial goals, it is another thing altogether to actually take action towards forming habits towards achieving those goals pickup is merely the tip of the ice berg, and to improve with women you must improve as a man |

As pumpington told you, this is the very core of the game. This is exactly what the game is all about. Great guys get great girls so become a great guy. All the canned routines and stuff are just the graphic interface. Doesnt really matter as long as you get your core right. Someone (Think it was Lyrical) called people who are into PU for self improvement "golden boys" and I agree, it is a great name. |
