Post subject:  Hole in the Chest, Literally. Confidence down down down

Hey,

I consider myself quite a good looking guy. I have great features like a face with a strong jaw line, sharp, good personality. I have a nice 6 pack, but my chest goes inwards.

Its a condition called Pectus Excavatum, or "Funnel Chest". It makes me look really skinny and I Hate it.

There is a chance for surgery, where they place a bar in my chest and break my sternum pushing it out.

I dont think there are health implications with my hole in the chest, I mean I feel okay, it would actually be for the physical appearance.

Is this worth it

That isn't something anyone can really answer for you, You have had that condition long enough to know how much it bothers you.

It sounds like a pretty painfull operation to undergo and for quite some time after, I mean I have had a hairline fracture on a rib and breathing was still painfull for quite a long time after.

A good girl is not going to care about that they are not as shallow as most guys are.

But if you think it's going to make you far more confident in everyday life more than just with girls then it could be worth it.

People everywhere get cosmetic/elective surgery for lot less of a reason than what you have. It's up to you to decide if the costs and recovery time are worth it.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I know a guy who has this condition. He isnt really that self concious about it. Hes not very good looking, doesnt work out at all. I think its just something you need to accept and realise that if your chatting up a girl chances are your going to have a shirt on so it shouldnt matter.
